Unique looking design on those wheels. They look great with the black body.

Hello all,

New to Mach E Forum and this is my first post!
I've been reading every post on this thread to try and come up with plan for changing out my wheels and tires. I'm changing them for two reasons:

Primary: I need at least 6in of ground clearance to get over the incline to my garage and the Mach E Select has 5.7in

Secondary: Looks and handling

My current setup: (OEM)

2023 Mach E Select AWD
Wheels 18x7 48mm offset, 5x108 bolt pattern 63.4mm bore
Tires 225/60r18 Michelin Primacy A/S 104H XL

Proposed setup: (would be square)

Wheels Fast Wheels Ev01+, 19x8.5 with 40mm offset, 5x108 bolt pattern 63.4mm bore
Tires 265/50/r19 Michelin CrossClimate2 110V XL (Fits 7.5 to 9.5in wide wheel, so I could go with the 19x7.5 44 offset Ev01+ as well).
Ford Mustang Mach-E Mach-E Aftermarket wheel and tire information and pictures IMG_0218

The difference in diameter is 21mm or 0.82in, meaning I would gain 0.4in of ground clearance to a total of 6.1in. After plugging the numbers into a fitment calculator the diameter variance is 2.9%, and according to what I've read the variance should remain less than 3% or there will be ABS, and traction control problems.

I chose the wheels because from what I read the aero wheel should decrease the loss of range that I will get with wider and taller tires and wheels; they also won't break the bank.

What do you guys think? Will the proposed setup fit without poke (4cm difference between 225 to 265, plus the 7.5mm difference in wheel offset), or rubbing on wheelwell, suspension, breaks, components/fender? Will this ruin the car or at the least make ride and handling worse?

Any concerns or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Here you are. Check out this 1.5 inch lift spring option for the MME. May be just what you need.

Thanks, vapor blue is a great color! I don't need extra clearance. I bought the wheels from EV sportline, and the 2 Mach Es they had pictures of had these tires installed. Their website recommended the 245/50s. After installing, definitely seems a bit taller than the other cars with these wheels. I'm considering lowering the car to compensate. As a bonus the dealership I work at stocks these tires and I get a discount. 🙂
I'm new to this forum. I'd like to do the same upgraded from my 225/60R18 on my 2022 California Rte 1 AWD. Did you have to make any adjustments to the speedometer or ABS?

Zinski, no need to make any adjustments. Like a regular vehicle the miles adjust accordingly. Also like gas the bigger the less mileage. I have 22s and I’m probably like at 220 max vs the 270 miles for my 2021 First edition.

Hi Sonny, the type of tire and its rolling resistance makes a bigger difference than how much larger it is over the OEM tire. Your 265/35/22's have the same dimensions as a 265/45/20 (both 29.3 tall, 10.4" wide) which I have run and I had a very minimal loss of range, like 10-15 miles max. Even though your Toyo Extensa HP II's say they are designed with a low rolling resistance tread material, I am not so sure. If you are concerned about range and want to improve on it, when the Toyo's need to be replaced, the only High Performance All Season tire in your size that is a specifically designed for EV's is the Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season TO Tesla PNCS ELECT. I mention high performacne all season because that is what your Toyo's are.

Yo Boris. That’s is good to know. Thanks I’m still learning about the EV stuff!!!! I like that. I might do that next replacement.

By they time you replace them, there might be several more EV tires in that size. That size is popular with Tesla so that is why they had Pirelli design an EV tire for them. Not that it makes a big difference but that tire also has the sound deadening foam inside.

By the way, I said it before but really like how your setup turned out. The car looks great.

I agree with what Mark posted about wheel size and rolling resistance.

Rolling resistance has a significant impact at all speeds. Wheel aerodynamics has a significant impact at highway speeds. Wheel weight and wheel size have a very minimal impact because of regenerative braking. A larger wheel with good aerodynamics is likely to have no impact on range as long as you are using a low rolling resistance tire.

It looks like the wheels Zinski put on his car have good aerodynamics, but that is just based on how they look. I have not done any wind tunnel testing myself, but I bet sometimes things that look good actually perform worse than you would expect. Airflow also depends on the car, and how far the wheels are recessed into the body. A small change could have a significant impact.

If I were to place a bet, it would be that Zinski's wheels are similarly efficient to the stock GT wheels, and slightly better than the GTPE wheels. That is a total guess, though, again just based on how they look.

By the way, there is a thread a forum sponsor posted that is focused specifically on those wheels, located here:
