Ford Posts All-Time Monthly Hybrid Sales Record

Customer reception to Ford hybrid vehicles continues to accelerate, with U.S. sales reaching 17,997 in April, a 60 percent improvement from the same month a year ago and a new monthly record.

Sales of the new F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid set a new monthly record in April – up 93.6% – making F-150 Hybrid America’s top-selling full-size hybrid pickup. Early customers of the new 2024 model are overwhelmingly choosing to upgrade to the available 7.2kW Pro Power Onboard feature, which brings power to a jobsite, tailgate party, or power appliances during a power outage.

So far this year, Maverick Hybrid is the best-selling hybrid pickup overall; customers bought 26,061 Maverick Hybrid trucks over the first four months of 2024. Most of those customers – 59% – are coming from other brands and segments, notably trading in their small SUVs for a Maverick.

I've decided NH is the BEV microcosm for the entire country because, um, well I have.

Anyway, I now see (another) Mach-E at least every other day where before I could to a week without seeing one. This is all very scientific so just go with it.

In my city of 19k people I see 5 other space whites on a regular basis, let alone the host of other colors. Still in my neighborhood, only 2 EVs and both in my driveway.

Also looks like Mach-Es outsold traditional mustangs in april, completely different demographic and buyer I know.

Over capacity, but the 58k is US while the plant supports NA, Europe, etc.

If you are at a 4-way traffic stop with 10 vehicles stopped in all directions, it would not be an exaggeration that 30 of the 40 vehicles are pickup trucks.

Anyways, I know they have sold a considerable number of Mach-Es to someone, because the drive-by inventory suggests it at the rural dealership.
But I don't ever see them.

I want Ford to succeed for at least selfish reasons. But I rather enjoy all 3 of my toys in town because they are all pretty exclusive.

Interesting that Mach E actually out-sold the ICE Mustang for April.

I’ve said it before I had already ordered a 24 gas powered Mustang, California special loaded out. After I took the electric for a drive I knew right there. I wanted it. And I can tell you if I owned the gas powered Mustang I would be spending well over $200 and something dollars a month on gas and I don’t even work anymore. That’s just recreational driving around town, going to the base to shop, just getting in the car wanna drive it pretty much. Also the insurance has come down on this car so everything compared I’m paying about $20 a month to fuel my car now if that.

Yeah the days of friendly Mach-E waves are long gone

I don’t see the MachE ever being an overwhelming choice for the general population. More like a regular Mustang compared to other Ford vehicles
in my book Ford should come up with something similar to the Chevy Bolt that would be bought in large numbers.

Somebody get the press in here, looks like EVs and hybrids are exactly what customers want. Not the rolling smoke machines stinking up the defoggers and air conditioning on the roads.

At the rate the E-Transit is selling, Ford should just discontinue the ICE version and let the used market take care of that segment. Oh, and get that passenger variant out already! They’ll sell like hotcakes.

For the right price, of course.
