Maybe it's a fastener and replaced when servicing that component?

Or it could be the transmission source for the death ray equipped "sentry mode" optional/paid OTA update.
Dumbest thing I ever heard. Any idiot knows that it's up by your head for the future neural interface OTA update. Just think what you want and the car will do it. Promised next year but requires a $10k deposit.

Yes. This MUST be it.

Thanks to MyFord NerdLink (Neuralink was taken), within a year every Mach-E will drive its driver, who will in turn be passively "driving the car" at all times.

Resale values will skyrocket upwards of $150,000 or even $200,000, as drivers are driven all across North America and Europe in a sort of massive interweb of Mach-Es, endlessly pursuing empty spaces to deploy AdSense banners and other co-marketed ventures.

The doors are simple and intuitive. Up front you press the button and pull the trough-style handle and open it comes with finger pressure only. The door is very easy to open. It's plenty big enough to get in and out easily but doesn't seem overly large or heavy.

The mechanism that pushes the door open is quite strong. I applied a bit of pressure against the door when I pressed the button and out it popped. I'm convinced that it will pop open even after being coated with sleet/freezing rain. If the ice on the car is so thick that thing won't open it DON'T DRIVE!

After popping the door open, the rod stays extended until you open the door about a foot, at which point it retracts:

You can hear the voice of my dealer and Koons Silver Spring Mach E Specialist Narh as he sees it operate.
Thank you for this video. I think this is the first one of its kind that explains exactly how the anti-pinch mechanism works.

Yep. There's one blue oval on the car: top of the windscreen where I think some forward looking cameras are found.

Note that the driver assist camera seems to have a rear window style set of defroster wires over the camera area of the windshield.

That's interesting. The cars at my tour stop would retract the holder after opening just an inch. I had to film about five time pulling the door open very quickly to even see it.

I'd prefer the way it was in the car you saw. Less opportunity for pinching.

Here's on of my videos:

Now for the part without pictures -- our general impressions.

WOW!

Did I say that before?

I continue to be really impressed with this car. It is definitely a beautifully styled automobile. I loved it in the reveal and even more when I saw a GT at the Washington Auto Show. As my wife said "It'll really turn heads". I'm thrilled that she really likes the looks of it. The Mach E really looks good from every angle ......
Mark, Your wife, and the Mach E, are much better looking than you. ?

Someone today was asking me about it (he actually has a reservation deposit down and is still contemplating). He asked what it really looks like: sports car, sedan, SUV? The Mustang Mach E has the powerful look and form that comes from its Mustang heritage. The best description I could give is it looks like a bigger version of a classic Jaguar E-Types, the ones that inspired the original Datsun 240Z. It looks strong and sporty but big enough to be comfortable.
You just put a really big smile on my face.

You know, that's a very good question. From watching the webinars I wasn't quite sure. When we got in the car I suggested to my wife that was what the space under phones was for. She said "maybe for a wallet or a clutch". She then lifted the armrest and said definitively "that's where my purse is going"!
Thanks for the reviews. I felt the same during both my visits. That space under the phone is really small and awkwardly reachable. The good thing is it added to additiional usable space for something.

On a separate note, I was at the Hassett Ford (Farmindale, LI) long enough to see the puddle lights. It was as described previously. The marketing guy (I think Joe) who drove this car said the light was not very bright and I was only able to see it projected on the back of my phone from a 6" distance. I suspect it will be brighter on the production model and as bright as the Jaguar I rented in FL.

Yes. It connects to the chip Bill Gates is implanting in people who get the COVID-19 vaccine. Sign me up! :p

Yes, I First saw it in your videos. I was missing it when I opened the door quickly like you did. I found by opening it really slowly it delayed retraction a bit.

My wife also loved the Infinite Blue. I had to reminder her that IB isn't a First Edition color and that she said she doesn't like the black wheel lip arches.
As I read through your observations I thought to myself "do I even need to go see it in person", but this reminded me that yes, I have to see if I can live with those shiny black wheel arches. Thank you for all the details you've given us.
