I got a few pictures of the California Rt. 1 Edition in Space White at the Milwaukee Auto Show in Wisconsin over the weekend. They had the display blocked off so I couldn't get very close. Zooming in on the dash, I could see a 447 but couldn't tell if it's mi or km. Which may mean you get get over 400 mi if you're willing to only drive your car onto and off of trailers :) .

Interestingly when I asked the rep there about self-driving, she claimed that Ford was looking to release it as an OTA update "very soon" after launch. Maybe December/January, according to her. She didn't say much about what abilities it would have, though. You wonder if it will be available so early, why not launch with it? It could be a PR thing to make something really notable for their first OTA. I think "Ford gives self-driving capability OTA, matching Tesla" sounds much better than "Ford releases first OTA update, increasing rear lift gate opening speed".

Good pics! You make a good point about the PR benefit for providing it via OTA update. Also my guess is if they wanted to launch with it, it would have had to been ready to demonstrate by now. This gives them almost another year to make sure it's fully baked before they have to show it in action.

I believe, judging from those pics that the color is the Space White, not Star White, Very confusing color nomenclature I must say.

Thanks! I updated the post. I wasn't really into either of the whites so looked them up quick on the Ford website to get the color name! I've really been wanting to see Infinite Blue or Carbonized Gray, as well as the light space grey interior. That was the only disappointing part about seeing it, but otherwise I have to agree with everyone else in saying that it looks much better in person than in the pictures!

The only thing I keep noticing is that the interior isn't as refined as I would like to see, especially compared to the exterior, but still nicer than the model Y.

I don't believe the show cars have the final interiors.

Since I don't have any experience with luxury cars.... How exactly would a "refined" interior be different?

BINGO. I sat in it at LA auto show. They said pictures of outside were fine but inside NOT because it was not finalized.

Refined interiors are like porn, you will know it when you see it.
OMG now that was THE perfect answer.
Yes you will know!!! More like you will feel it when you sit down in the drivers seat and see the dash etc.

Yes, and we won't be able to sit in the real seats until they start rolling out of the factory.
