I got a few pictures of the California Rt. 1 Edition in Space White at the Milwaukee Auto Show in Wisconsin over the weekend. They had the display blocked off so I couldn't get very close. Zooming in on the dash, I could see a 447 but couldn't tell if it's mi or km. Which may mean you get get over 400 mi if you're willing to only drive your car onto and off of trailers .
Interestingly when I asked the rep there about self-driving, she claimed that Ford was looking to release it as an OTA update "very soon" after launch. Maybe December/January, according to her. She didn't say much about what abilities it would have, though. You wonder if it will be available so early, why not launch with it? It could be a PR thing to make something really notable for their first OTA. I think "Ford gives self-driving capability OTA, matching Tesla" sounds much better than "Ford releases first OTA update, increasing rear lift gate opening speed".
