No mention of just how many of those were FTCP Mannequins. A big reason the sales numbers get skewed by the way. Ford gets to claim a sale and the cars sit on the dealer lots as mannequins....and when you buy one you're the "second owner" of a used MME (or Lightning).

At least the warranty is extended to compensate.

But yeah....I wouldn't place too much emphasis on sales numbers when the FTCP program is not taken into account.

Mannequins were probably a big deal early on in the Mach E's life cycle but by now dealers definitely don't need them. Would Ford really still be forcing them on dealers?

Is that true though? At least in California, I don't think that counts as the first sale and you are still the first owner if you buy a loaner, unless mannequins are different? Here if you buy a loaner, you still get the full bumper to bumper as if it was brand new, from the date you sign, not when the dealer started using it. Not CPO or anything, but new.

I think so, for the Model e certified dealers (maybe just elite?). They are supposed to be able to arrange demo drives for potential customers.

So let me see if I understand this. The price of the vehicles was lowered and they sold more? That doesn't track. 😜

First registered owner and first owner are not the same thing.

The first owner being the FCTP program is never something that the first registered owner (consumer purchaser) would normally be aware of...until they check their warranty and find out it's been extended by Ford automagically to 42 months (or whatever the offset needs to be for how long it was in the FCTP program).

This whole FTCP program is a mechanism to artificially increase sales numbers in the short term.

My dealership had over 100 MME when I bought mine in December of 2023. They essentially had every model option in every color option and several of each. Not sure these are needed anymore.

I might be missing something, but while the sales for the Mach-e increased greatly from Feb of last year and more than last month and looks good, the numbers are still trending in the wrong way for long term improvement for the Mach-e

Overall at this time in 2024, they are down 4% sales from 2023 even with a large jump in Feb. On top of that, they have produced more new Mach-e (5769) than they sold (4225). And the other table shows they have 20,100 in inventory... so selling at an average of 2500 (which is an overestimate based above) a month that's 8 months. But that's only if no more are produced, which production is outpacing sales. Current numbers will extend the average time on lot.

Honestly when I see the data, I see the changes in price have helped sales, but even then it doesn't seem to be enough yet.
