What the actual fuck am I looking at?
Looks to me like he had a flat in the front right and was trying to get off the highway, panicked and scraped the Jersey barrier, and was in a state of ‘panic’ so didn’t’ check for on-coming traffic as he tried to exit….the vehicle on the on-ramp that struck him was either clueless or blind sided or both….

Rouge lol 😂

Don’t know what the color red in the thread title has to do with this.

Anyway CLEARLY “pilot error”.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Welcome to the forum. Is it your objective to offend everyone you converse with here? Because you have offended more than just them.
No, but when people keep not reading, and saying I’m making up stuff im going to butt in. I ended up being right too. It was a DUI. Others not controlling what they say does not affect me.

Looks like the driver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.

Accident with injuries? It’s more than just a suspicion. This person was drunk. Explains a lot.

It would likely be an immediate breathalyzer or if you refuse, straight to the hospital for a blood test…..THEN they arrest you.

Still alleged until convicted in court.

Only if you’re a lawyer or believe in that kinda nonsense.

I live in the world of they did it or they didn’t. Not in the world of “if they can get a group of people to have some doubts or if there is some technicality that gets you off……”

I see you’re fairly new around here. I have a bit of a reputation of being “the class clown” and am rarely serious (except when it comes to the frunk). I generally take cute dogs like HuntingPudel and Bailey the most seriously, and really worship our extremely cute feline overlords (I’m not worthy to have been chosen by one). Anyway, I think it’s time to chill and move on 😀

Not a lawyer but, yeah, I do believe in the constitution, took an oath to it and still standing firm on it.

Please don’t stand on the Constitution - the parchment is almost 250 years old and pretty delicate. I’d hate to see it damaged or ripped 🙂

Just for everyone's information, if you do experience a service brake failure, you can use the electric parking brake in an emergency situation (per the manual):

Code:
APPLYING THE ELECTRIC
PARKING BRAKE IN AN
EMERGENCY
You can use the electric parking brake to
slow or stop your vehicle in an emergency.
Pull the switch up and hold it.
The red warning lamp illuminates, a tone
sounds and the stoplamps turn on when
you use the electric parking brake in an
emergency.
The electric parking brake continues to
slow your vehicle down unless you release
the switch.
Note: Do not apply the electric parking
brake when your vehicle is moving, except
in an emergency. If you repeatedly use the
electric parking brake to slow or stop your
vehicle, you could cause damage to the
brake system.

From the CHP's Facebook page:

DRIVER ARRESTED FOR DUI AFTER COMMUTE HOUR CRASH

(SAN CARLOS, Calif.)- The California Highway Patrol (CHP) – Redwood City Area is aware of a video recently shared on social media by a passing motorist. We appreciate the public’s interest and want to provide accurate information and context regarding the incident.

On August 13, 2025, at approximately 1:08 p.m., officers assigned to the CHP Redwood City Area office were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on US-101 southbound, south of Holly Street, in San Carlos. The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a green Ford Mustang Mach E, crashed into a red Mitsubishi Mirage then collided with the right shoulder wall near the Holly Street overcrossing. Through our investigation, we determined the vehicle was not operating in autonomous mode and CHP officers arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence, resulting in injuries to another.

While we understand public interest in such incidents, video clips may not capture the complete context or investigative process. The CHP conducts each investigation thoroughly, professionally, and in accordance with the law. We thank the community for its concern and remind motorist to report dangerous driving by calling 9-1-1.

The Mission of the California Highway Patrol is to provide the highest level of Safety, Service, and Security.
