I'm still kind of ambivalent about the styling of my MMEGT, but it's growing on me. I really don't care for the "anime" look of the wheels. The good folks at Tirerack fixed me up with a set of wheels that look a lot like the ones I had on my old ICE Mustang. Much better, IMHO:

I like the GTPE wheels better. Buying a Sel AWD, first thing to change is wheels and tires...

They are ASA GT 14 wheels, $268 ea at Tirerack. 20x8.5, +45mm offset.
Do they resonate crazily when coming to a slow stop? We originally ordered the ASA GT 14s for our 4X and ended up sending them back to Tire Rack after exhausting all efforts to stop the resonant sound. Same size and offset as yours. See video:

How does a wheel even cause that noise?!?

That is the spokes of the wheel themselves resonating due to a particular frequency of vibration in the brake caliper/rotor and hub assembly. The OEM wheels don’t do it and neither do the OZ Racing Gran Turismo wheels we ended up getting.

I’ve had lightweight wheels in the past do the same thing but not to that volume level. 😂

The wheels look nice! I know I am the odd man out but I have come to like the stock wheels on the GT.
I like them! Hence my signature line...
