Mustang Mach-E GT Gets Upgrade with Performance Edition, Accelerates to 60 MPH in Targeted 3.5 Seconds
Ford Mustang Mach-E Mach-E GT Performance Edition Specs and Looks Revealed. 0-60 in 3.5 Mustang-Mach-E-GT-Performance-Edition-01

DEARBORN, Mich., Dec. 1, 2020 – Targeting a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds1, Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition joins the Mustang Mach-E GT stable, making an already-fast electric pony even quicker.

Pumping out 480 horsepower (358 kilowatts) and 634 lb.-ft. of torque (860 newton-meters2), Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition delivers more torque, grip and better handling by drawing more power from its battery pack and targets an EPA-estimated range of 235 miles3.

“We already pushed the envelope by creating an electric vehicle with the pony badge, so it’s only natural that we push it even further,” said Darren Palmer, global director, battery electric vehicles, Ford Motor Company. “Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition not only gives you the added performance you expect from the GT name, but accentuates the thrill with the responsiveness of an all-electric powertrain.”

Offering more than just added “oomph,” the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition features sportier components including 19-inch front brakes with red-painted Brembo® calipers as well as 20-inch machined-face Ebony Black-painted pockets paired with 245/45R20 Pirelli summer tires and MagneRide®damping that helps to improve handling performance.

With the driver in mind, the front seats are Ford Performance-sculpted with Performance Gray ActiveX material featuring metallic stitching and unique Miko perforated reflective inserts. The instrument panel is enhanced by a unique aluminum appliqué, while the rear of the vehicle sports a Performance Edition GT badge.

Both Mustang Mach-E GT and Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition will be available in signature Mustang colors including Cyber Orange Metallic Tri-Coat, Dark Matter Gray Metallic, Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Star White Metallic Tri-Coat, Grabber Blue Metallic, Shadow Black, Iconic Silver Metallic and Space White Metallic.

Reserve the Mustang Mach-E GT here. Customers who have already reserved the Mustang Mach-E GT will have the opportunity to add the Performance Edition package at time of ordering in spring 2021.

Mustang Mach-E GT and GT Performance Edition will be available late next summer.

Very cool, I just wish they packed on a bit bigger battery to extend the range some.

A few weeks ago the GT was buildable on the Canadian Ford site.... and it was expensive... Nice features and lots more power, but it won't be cheap and they will most likely not build much

hmm "245/45R20 Pirelli summer tires", the summer tires at least gets a plus point, however using Pirelli gets a massive down vote from me :(.

When I reserved my GT at the beginning of 2020 I did not know there would be an additional uptick for the MagnRide damping and the other goodies that come with this performance package. A little disappointed, especially when Ford reduced the cost on all of the other models. I guess I understand that Ford has to make the bucks somewhere, and despite all that I will probably get the performance package, but I'll complain for a little while. I'm sure after I drive it though, I will be fully satisfied.

I agree. When I reserved, I thought I was getting the top of the line with all the goodies.

When the reveal happened and the GT rolled out in grabber blue with on a set of wheels, neither of which shown on the GT reservation page, my first thought was expect plenty of extra $$$ options for the GT.

As price has not been mentioned maybe it will get a similar hair cut as everything else, if the base price remains at 60K then relasticltally the performance option can't be that much extra otherwise any supposed competitive price saving from potential tax credits will be pretty irrelevant if it ends up a at 65k for a lot less range compared the the model Y, can't really comment on performance as we don't have the full picture yet but with the current projected range deficit the performance needs to be a lot better than the Y not just the same.

If Ford installed a bigger battery, the 0-60 time will increase. You cannot expect a heavier version (more mass) to keep the same acceleration if the force is the same. This is basic physics.

You either get a very fast EV or a longer range EV. For now you cannot get both. I don't need the faster acceleration or the longer range, so I prefer saving money with the lesser force and smaller battery.

Looks great. I would have loved to seen it lowered even more though. I am torn between the GT and the GT Performance, on one hand I want the top of the line trim and on the other I think the MME will be a smash hit and Ford will surely put out a sexier coupe, coupe+2, or shooting break version in the near future.

At which point I will want the sexier version! I keep dreaming of an ME with the Jaguar F-Type rear roof line.
