This article mentions that it will have a 0-60 of 3.5 seconds. If it is built on top of a Premium 4x, I am wondering how they're doing that

https://fordauthority.com/2023/07/ford-mustang-mach-e-rally-idea-came-from-team-members/
Reading closely it seems he was talking about about the Mach E in general, because the next paragraph talk about how they haven’t released details on the rally yet.

So the 0-60 was for the existing GTPE, not the rally.

From the article-
……it’s demonstrated electric can be fun, even if it’s different fun, when you experience how quickly that car reacts to you, with a 0 to 60 of 3.5 seconds.”

“Demonstrated” as in past tense, not the future rally model.

As a Focus RS owner, I can confirm a small percentage of people want these. I'm guessing it will have a huge markup and limited production (just like the Focus RS had). It's a good way to make additional money on an existing platform for a niche market. For a good comparison, look at the Raptor sales.

Also funny to see fog lights on a car that was designed from the beginning to never need more than headlights. Looks like they're contradicting this article already https://fordauthority.com/2022/12/ford-lineup-will-eventually-ditch-fog-lights-altogether

Ah I see. "This car" must have referred to the overall Mach-E line. Sad, got a little excited about seeing potential boost out of the Premiums.

Edit: Although, check out the entire quote: 'noting that this particular model isn’t “just a box on wheels. It’s got a personality, and it’s demonstrated electric can be fun, even if it’s different fun, when you experience how quickly that car reacts to you, with a 0 to 60 of 3.5 seconds." '

Make- Ford
Model- Mustang Mach E

Rally edition is a “trim,” not a model.

I know I’m getting nit picky, but I would hope the VP wouldn’t confuse “model” with “trim” as they are specific definitions in the car world.
