Fake news ???
Not seeing how it's fake. Can say very specific set of conditions that have little bearing on typical use. I am sure Tesla or someone will go back and break it soon enough. It's bragging rights, but has little real meaning, but it's not fake.

Fake news ??? ...Not on US interstates at 80+ mph cruising speeds... The best I was ever able to get is at around 5.2 mi/kwH driving at "grandma's" speed on level secondary roads for very short periods of time. The minute I hit an interstate and brought up to 80+mph the efficiency dropped to below 3.3 mi/kwH, and if you drive continuously after the second charge then the efficiency drops even further down, and never comes up above 3.3mi/kwH. Driving in FL temperatures of 90ºF, w/A/C set at 74ºF and tires filled w/Nitrogen at F38/R39 psig, two passengers and light load. RWD w/ Premium trim & 68kWh battery. The biggest bugger is the absurdly conservative charging curve, irrespective at either 150 or 350 kW rated dcFast chargers, whether at 10% or 20% SOC I never see rates higher than 87 kwH of charges, and it is for less than 100 seconds then it levels off down to about 47 kwH and stays till 80% SOC and then catastrophically drops down to an absurd snail pace of 8 kWH !!!
PS: At EA dcFast charge stations which are "colocated" with Tesla's Superchargers, i.e. one at Wawa in Newcastle, DE, one at Florida City FL (EA is at Walmart while Supercharger is at adjacent Bubalicious BBQ parking lot within eyesight) it is very evident that Teslas of all kinds come and go for a speedier charging than me, which takes at least 42-56 minutes to reach 80% SOC.
Well you shouldn’t expect to break any Guiness records driving at 80 mph in FL heat with passengers.
