We drove a Polestar 2 w/performance pack at the Austin experience center about a week after we ordered our 4X, just to make sure we did the right thing. Here’s the shortest summary I can give:Lol never mind, I just looked up how they service your car.
Yep, we did a test drive in the Polestar 2 and put a video on YouTube. We had basically the same bullet points. We drove a Polestar 2 w/performance pack at the Austin experience center about a week after we ordered our 4X, just to make sure we did the right thing. Here’s the shortest summary I can give:
1. Looks great, very nice in midnight blue. The performance pack with the bigger wheels, summer tires, yellow Brembos, and Ohlins dampers is actually a fair value at $5 K extra.
2. Interior is nice but no better than MME quality wise.
3. More power = stronger shove in the back. Noticeable but not earth-shattering difference vs. 4X.
4. The center console “waterfall” was so obtrusive it was literally an instant dealbreaker for my wife and myself. I’m 6’4”, she’s 5’10”, and we both constantly knocked our right knee on the hard plastic because it was that obtrusive.
5. Range is substantially less but may be no issue depending on individual circumstances.
= we made the right choice going 4X.
Oh my gosh I forgot about smashing my knees on that. Both as a passenger AND when trying to drive. In my case I drive with my left leg crossed over so it wasn't even a possibility! That design feature bugs me so much! I feel like they wanted the aesthetic of a command center style cabin like the Audi E-Tron but they could have gotten that and still had some lateral leg room. It's a design flaw and it pisses me off.We drove a Polestar 2 w/performance pack at the Austin experience center about a week after we ordered our 4X, just to make sure we did the right thing.
