Mach-e won't shift out of park

2023 Premium extended range. It's happened twice this morning. Both times I switched the car off, got out, locked the car and walked around it once. When I got in again it shifted into reverse and later drive just fine. Any thoughts on the problem/

I have a 21 Premium ER AWD. Here's a couple scenarios that I've run into. One is that I noticed the Parking Brake is engaged because on the small display, near the "Ready" it shows "Brake - Ready". I have to touch the accelerator pedal then we're ready to roll. Second, super easy mistake to make is to try to shift out of Park before the car has run through its powering on cycle. Give it a few seconds for the software to boot and cycle through POST (power on, self test.) Remind yourself it's a computer that you drive!

This may sound like a silly question, but was your foot on the brake?
Maybe even sillier, but was a door ajar? Didn't happen to me on my Mach E but did on my wife's Escape PHEV. I was confounded until I figured it out.

I wasn't using PAAK and The door was closed. Ford tried to install the software update Friday night and it didn't complete for some reason. The upgrade was installed last night and the car worked fine today. Who knows?

We have a 2024 premium standard range And having the same issues.
We had it towed. The service department told us was because there was an update but now it's happened two times. Since then, start the car and the transmission won't move from Park.

Unfortunately it feels like the game's about to be well. We don't know what's wrong with it here. Take it back! + And hope we don't keep complaining about the issue.

Early 2021 Mach Es had a problem in the short wiring harness that connected to the main drive unit. It had an intermittent failure that would cause the car to get stuck in park. The solution was a recall of that harness.

I'm not sure if this could apply to 2023s or if the parking pawl system had been changed by then.

About 60 miles 5 days a week. Drove fine for two weeks and now nothing but problems. Still having anybody from Ford reach out to saw the level 2 charger either.
