I don't think the reviewers frequent these threads…
“The abundance of technology inside also works very well and isn’t laggy whatsoever, a problem that plagues many modern vehicles.”
:)
Haha I guess they've never actually used Sync. Having said that, I do really like this interior. My last car was a Cadillac XT5 lease that I returned before deciding to own an EV and maybe I'm easy to please but I find the MME interior just as comfortable and well appointed. The longest trip I've done in it was about 459 miles and was surprised at how comfortable the seats are.

I'd give the Mach-E a B rating on the interior. Here's why I would downgrade it:

- Needs 2 more cupholders in the center, at the rear of the console.
- Bottle holders on the doors are useless. Only short bottles fit, and they don't stand upright at all.
- Front doors have a storage space towards the rear, but it's next to impossible to access easily.
- In the center console, the lower space is not high enough.
- Seats need to be ventilated or cooling. Just heated is a big miss.
- Some functions should be buttons and the screen, like basic AC controls.

I’ve done much longer trips and the seats are really comfy. I’ma fan of the interior, too.

My biggest complaint on the interior is the placement of the B&O badge. I keep seeing the reflection off it in the right side mirror.

I'd agree that those would be favorable upgrades. I rarely have extra two passengers in the back so the cupholder thing is not a complaint and I think the rear fold down part between the seats has two cup holders but I might just be imagining that. But not useful if you have a 5th passenger.

My front door side storage space is where my umbrella lives, so I find that useful. And totally agreed about the lower space under the console. It's not large enough to put anything useful in there or at the very least it's a tight squeeze.

LOL so far I haven't had that problem, but I can just envision it.

yeah, the door compartments are a bit mind boggling in their lack of practical use. The rest is pretty good for it's price range.

I use one of the cupholders for a two cellphone holder. So I'd like another set of cupholders in the rear of the console for my drink.

Yes the fold-down arm rest in back has two cup holders.

I dunno I think Ford did right by emphasizing looks over practicality on the Mustang of SUVs. Seems like something like peak cupholder and storage space should be a key focus on the Escape EV when it arrives.

I have similar complaints to those listed by others,

- The speaker design makes the door pockets less practical than they should be, also get a major demerit from me for not being felt lined which seeing also BEV is all about silence is poor form, seeing as the cheaper mk4 focus has this.

- Top of dash it cheap hard plastic rather than soft touch :(, could be argued that sound bar means it less noticeable but not good enough at this price point.

- Center storage bin lacks internal usb connections, at least it has the cover that normally goes missing on USA cars :), however the actual quality is not the best and neither is the very rough plastic trim around the slot is slides in, needs to be much higher quality.

- The gear selection zone, is wasted space, and could have contained physical heated controls for the front seats, also +1 on lack of ventilated seats at this price point, upper trims should really have also include massage functions, even if just the primitive version that uses the lumbar support as found on the much cheaper ford puma

- Scratch magnet piano black gloss plastic around cup holders and wireless phone charger, just no :(

- Rear seats are missing, heating & recline functionality and a ski hatch pass through the arm rest.

- Needs physical button hvac controls, unless it is a simple tap on / off using a screen with sliders bars are rubbish when driving, and voice controls are hit and hiss and not as fast as just turning a dial up and down.

- The drivers dash it a welcome addition, but it really needed to be full height display, the digital dash found in other ford vehicles is far superior.

- No HUD option.

- No rear ambient lighting, and overall by todays interior ambient lighting standards it is very basic with no secondary upper lighting. The potential is there just not used (the angled separator trim used on the door cards is the perfect location for some upper secondary lighting)

Overall design of the mach-e interior is not bad but at present I have to give it a C- it lacks features and uses some lower quality plastics in places that are not really good enough at this price point (an issue for most mainstream BEVs), I would say the basic bones of the structure is there and with with a few tweaks it could easily be elevated to an A so hopefully is something that ford can do with the mid life model refresh.

I like the interior but I think there is room for improvement in style and quality. Also, Ventilated seats should absolutely be available and interior color options on the GT models.. I still think it’s very nice and can’t wait actually take some time with my own, hopefully this month!

Who the @#$& is Wards? Thought they were a defunct retailer from my childhood.

I’m starting to think that, just maybe, awards are kind of a made up thing, you know, just maybe.

Well, they've been around longer than Montgomery-Ward.

More of an auto industry focus than the consumer focused sites/mags, e.g. C&D, R&T, Motor Trend.
