If you've ever driven Route 1 you know why Ford would name a Mustang Mach-E model after that road. Probably 60% of the cars traveling along it are Mustangs (a Chevy which may not be named probably accounts for another 30%). It's the quintessential drive for Mustang enthusiast of all ages and nationalities.
That said, Highway 1 is built on sandstone cliffs and is subject to frequent closures. The most recent rains took a big slice out of the road: https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2021-01-29/winter-storm-causes-landslides-in-big-sur Hopefully the Mach-E Route 1 will fare better than the highway after which it was named!
