Of course, that’s after I buy and install a receiving pad…. Raise your hand if you are going to do that to use this mile…. This is a total waste of resources.. build a charging station along this mile…

I can’t wait to live in a future where people try to charge their phones on wireless roads only to have them crushed by 8000 pound Hummer EVs.
Officer to driver - "why were you stopped in your lane"
driver to officer - "I was charging my car"

You have no idea how sad it makes me to see my home state do these moronic things...

Yeah, you still can't drive across the UP with DCFC, and going south out of the state is dicey.

Only way something like this makes even a tiny amount of sense:
Charging lane on a toll road.

Put it on interstate highways. Space it out enough so BEVs could theoretically drive forever without stopping to charge.

Could solve the road trip range issue and lack of chargers.

Downside? Likely horribly inefficient therefore bad for the planet.

Potential solution? Run the road on solar power.

Biggest downside? $$$$$$$$$$

13% of our Federal money goes towards defense. I am guessing that much of that money is a total waste of resources but yet we (the people) see no need to refute that point.

It would be nice to see even a fraction of that money go toward something that would make for better road systems and technology in our own Country IMHO. Almost all technologies that started new has its detractors that suggest that it won't work and it is a waste of time.

I am not saying that this project pertaining to this thread is viable but it is disheartening to throw much of our resources to building roads in Countries that we have bombed and not really spend much in comparison to our own roads and technology that could be used for our benefit.

Yes, I agree that we should spend money on charging systems but I think it is worth investing on ways to bypass that way if you will for future ways of not needing to stop and charge.

Just my two cents....................

Im with You on the foreign spending part!.. With a 32 trillion debt, not including SSI and MediCare, we (the people) have no extra money for much of anything. We spend and leave it for our kids (and their kids, etc.) to figure out.

So what is the opposite of a Pollyanna? ;)

Yes, in all forms of "big entities", waste is prevalent.

Not all of it is waste but there is a considerable amount of waste in ALL business when you peel the layers off.

Was defending our Country during WWII a waste? I think not. Yes, there was wasteful spending but in the bigger picture, money well spent to protect our freedom. Just one of millions of examples.

I am assuming that the car you are enjoying is considered "waste" in a more conservative mind as well.

Waste is somewhat relative in many respects.

But being a Michigan road it will be full of car destroying potholes in a year, maybe two
That allows the electrons to move faster and longer. I once your tires are destroyed you can charge by being parked on the road. Always a great idea in northern areas.
