This is my first zero turn. I've been running a JD conventional lawn tractor I bought in 2004. Still runs fine, but it's time to move on.I really want to switch to an electric ZTR as well. But I just bought a brand new cub cadet ZTR like 3 years ago.
However, taking my MME to the gas station to get gas for my mower really made me want to just trade it in and be done with it.
Some places maybe, But my HOA this year banned solar panels. So I don't see them pushing electric anything here. ?I think HOA ICE lawn mower bans are coming.
Huh! what do they have against them. At least these days they are all black to match the Agrestic color choice....Some places maybe, But my HOA this year banned solar panels. So I don't see them pushing electric anything here. ?
3kWh battery....would fully charge in slightly more than 1 minute. ?Would be cool if it could use the same EVSE as the MME though. haha
My push mower and hedge trimmer are both GreenWorx and share a common battery platform (40V Li-ion). I plan to build on that as the need arises. Looking at a chainsaw now.I'm on my 2nd Ryobi 20" battery mower. My first used a huge lead acid battery--it weighed more than the gas lawn mower I replaced it with.
The latest one uses a Li-Ion battery pack with a spot for a spare so I don't have to walk back to the garage if I need to swap them.
Also have a Ryobi snow thrower using the same packs.
I kind of discussed all my changes in this thread:

Yes - level 2, 40A EVSE would charge a 3kWh battery in about 1 minute, 10 seconds. It can't happen, obviously as the platform is totally different as you indicate.EVSE would imply max L2. Not DC fast charge. Or about 30 minutes until the dreaded tapper kicks in. So last kwh would be 2 hours. L2 would require battery management though, meaning cooling of some kind. I think 110 is low enough no cooling needed.
Hmm. There is something lost in translation here. 3kwh battery, 40 amp EVSE max 7.2 kw would imply closer to 30 minutes for full charge. What am I missing here.Yes - level 2, 40A EVSE would charge a 3kWh battery in about 1 minute, 10 seconds. It can't happen, obviously as the platform is totally different as you indicate.
