Hi, as so many ... waiting for a production date and I am exploring if I should switch from Premium to GT.
One thing that is really different in the cars are the seats. I had leather seats before and on long trips I sweat my pants through. The seats in the Premium are perforated so that may help - I hope. The seats in the GT are Mika, a suede material. I have no experience with this material. I read a bunch of forum posts that as it is a cloth like material it does not get as hot or cold as leather - so that sounds good. As they put that stuff everywhere, even in the doors, I wonder how well it hold up and how easy it is to maintain to keep the look. I watched some videos of detailers and hear a lot of careful agitating with a brush and what not.
Ford apparently used this material already for a long time, so I hope someone here has some experience with it and can elaborate a bit:
- how does it hold up over 4-6 years?
- what do you do to maintain the look?
- how is the heat/sweaty feeling compared to (perforated) leather?
Thanks
