Hey, everyone:

Bought my 2022 Premium eAWD Standard Range less than a month ago. LOVE IT! Drove it off the lot with 224 miles. No real cold weather here in Delaware yet and not running the heat or air like crazy. My target range at 100% is now down to 189 miles. I know I've read on this forum that it may just be what it is, but is there any explanation for this? It's lost 15% of its capacity in less than a month. Is this normal? Seems like a really dramatic drop to me in only one month.

Gotcha. Now, hypothetically, on those warm summer days, will the range reset to something in the 224 vicinity or are those miles "lost for good," so to speak?

Thanks again!

Your battery hasn’t lost any capacity. Your have two thing happening. It is getting colder (despite your definition of cold weather the car is like an old lady, anything below 80° is too cold and anything 80° and up is too hot.)
Also your GOM is figuring out your driving style (which will always make the guesstimated range lower than EPA unless you too are an 80 year old and drive like your age.)

Case in point.
my GT-PE has an EPA range of 260 miles. But I don’t drive like the EPA says I should (average of 48 MPH on the highway or some such nonsense. You can look it up. Their range estimates are truly unrealistic). So even in warm weather my GOM says about 235. Then when it gets cold it drops to about 160 miles.
I can still get the 260 miles the EPA says I should, if I drive like my Grandmother in warm weather. Actually about 280 miles that way. But my displayed range estimate will never be 260 because I’m not going to drive like that often enough to make my car predict that. The number on the dash is a prediction and just as accurate as a good psychic hotline. It’s only real if you make it real.

Then I must really drive like an old lady since my 305 mile rated CA Rt1 often reads 340+ miles in the summer...
