I think that further shows that the model tested was a prototype here. If that's the case, then that means they tested with 90% of the stated battery capacity for the ER.
Prototypes only had 90% as much battery?

I hadn't heard that.

Well how much of the battery in the Y is locked about 5%. The model Y LR gets just over 300 miles in real world testing done by many online reviewers. From what we see here the closest to real world testing gets 250miles but with 20% locked. So if Ford changes the 20% to lets say 10% do the math. 250/80*90=281 miles.

Me either.
That was only based on a lot of assumptions, one of which was the ambiguous "288" "units" number for battery capacity in the EPA doc.

As I skimmed the Doc, I assumed the 288 was the number of cells.

FORD says,
These advanced batteries feature 288 lithium-ion cells in the standard-range version and 376 lithium-ion cells in the extended-range.

How are you figuring 20%? 88 of 98.8 is about 11% reserve.

A member on the Mach E Club suggested that these documents were the 2-cycle test for "emissions" certification, not the full 5-cycle test for the range.

So basically ignore all this, and continue to hurry up and wait. ☺

The 288 reference for capacity was pulled from the ER submission, though.

Regardless, here is the application for certification which clarifies that ambiguity (and begs more questions).

Well, it looks like the ER RWD will hit it's mark.
- UDDS: 434.9 x 0.7 = 304
- HWY: 382.9 x 0.7 = 268

I believe the "288" figure for the RWD ER was arrived at by combining those two numbers to find the "45% hwy / 55% city" driving combined figure that will go on the window sticker.
