I had trouble finding current/recent order -> delivery timeline stories. So for those in a similar pickle, here's mine:
Intro: I'm in Central VA. MME is a Premium, AWD, extra battery, Dark Matter Gray, light interior.
After realizing that MMEs were just not available, I ordered mine thru my local dealer on 4/21.
Order went right in, receiving an email from Ford with my order number same day.
7/9 received VIN number from Ford, though it turned out to be the wrong one.
8/15 Ford added another 6 week delay, though I had never gotten any delivery estimate.
10/26 Ford corrected VIN
10/28 "in production"
10/29 email from Ford saying "Built"
10/30 Ford email "shipped", delivery due 12/5-11
11/18 Jack Cooper Trucking delivered MME to Kansas City Norfolk Southern Rail yard.
11/23 from Ford "dealer contact"
11/24 email from Ford saying MME had been delivered to dealer. Called salesman who said he didn't see it when he toured their yard on his way in. Called back an hour later saying it was there. Picked it up at 3:30. Happy camper!
So it was either 3 weeks early, or 7 months late ;=)
The earlier delivery may have been helped that I am a straight shot east of KC, and nearby Petersburg has an auto rail offload yard, and it is only 10 miles from my dealer. YMMV
