I am new here and I have been getting useful information from this MME forum. Thank you.

Let's say you have options to buy 2021 Premium and 2022 Select with Blue Cruise at the same price. That might be an over statement. The price difference can be within $500. Which one should you buy?

Premium is a higher trim with fancy options so it will be easier to sell or trade at a higher price but being a year older model might command a lower price and harder to sell or trade. Glass roof is nice but with hot sunlight it might not be a desired option. Metal roof should give a better security from accident/hail/rocks. I do not recall seeing any differences between 2021 and 2022 models other than the differences on the trim levels.

2021 Premium would be my choice.

There are many differences between the 2 models which you would discover quickly. The premium has a better radio, 19 inch tires and nice rims. Not sure what else is different.

If they are the same price, someone is ripping you off. Sun is not an issue with the glass roof as has been posted many times.

100% go premium. You should hopefully get BlueCruise soon on the 2021 models. I find the seats and additional additions on the premium worth the price increase and if you are getting the premium for the same price as a 2022 select, I'd say it's a no brainer.

Thank you for watching out for the newbie.
Not really. 2022 Select price increase is +$1000 which bring the price closer to 2021 Premium. With possible color option (+$) and blue cruise on select, the total price would be about the same (Within $500).

A 2021 Premium without BC active would be a Job 1 car. Seems strange that there would be a new J1 on a lot anywhere.

I would definitely make sure that all of the software updates/recalls have been completed prior to signing any paperwork. Aside from that, I would vote for the 21 Premium also. I have been very happy with mine.

I donā€™t think they were necessarily saying the Premium doesnā€™t have BlueCruise. They just mentioned the Select does have BlueCruise since thatā€™s optional on the Select.

Regardless, Iā€™d go with the Premium over the Select in a heartbeat.

When I bought my 2021 Premium SR AWD, it was actually pretty much the same price as the Select SR AWD after I added the Blue Cruise tech package, even though the select qualified for government rebates and the Premium didn't.

This is because the interest rate on the select was 4x what it was for the premium. So initially the sale price looked a little different but the monthly payment was basically the same and after you calculate the total cost of ownership including interest on the loan, the premium cost the same as the select but with much nicer features (better seats, glass roof, glossy exterior trim, better wheels)

Thank you for the information about the interest rates. I will have to watch out for that. I was not aware that Premium didn't qualify for the rebates. Was the rebates offered by the State?

I should clarify that I am in Canada and that my comments regarding rebates for the select/ premium apply to Canada and my province in particular.
