Didn’t think we would be a Ford vs Chevy household, but tempted to pull the trigger on a RS.

Factory roof rails and probably a factory tow hitch!
Ventilated seats and up to 190kW fast charging!
FWD kinda lame though.
And seems like the price could creep up with desirable options.

Yes, this is understood. I just think that the Mach-E, for all it's promise, does a bad job at performance above 70 mph. Regardless of trim. My Select AWD supposedly doesn't have power limiting, but up to 70, it's quick, after that, it's not. If heard it's worse with the GTPE. I'm interested in the fact the Blazer EV SS has higher torque, higher HP, but a slower 0-60 the than the MME GT, even in WOW mode. Either: car is heavier, specs of torque and HP from Chevy are lies, or the CBEVSS has better top end performance. Only time will tell.
If the Lyriq is any indication, Blazer is going to be significantly heavier.

We're going to have 10s or 100s of choices for EVs in the next few years.
And anything we buy today will be older (not obsolete) tech in 6 months.
My MME is awaiting shipment so there is new tech happening and I don't even have the car yet.
Those of you with 21s hats off to being the alpha testers, as a 22 I still feel like we're in the beta testing.
4 to 6 weeks and I'll be testing too.
The specs and pricing on the blazer will change by the time it's available.
Performance cars in the next few years are going to be amazing.

I LOVE it. I like the rear design better than the boat tail on the Lyriq. Also appears to have a rear windshield wiper! Cargo space looks smaller than in the Lyriq? And it has NORMAL DOOR HANDLES!

Interior infotainment looks sick. I love that they retained physical buttons. 2023 is going to be a great year for EVs!
I actually love the door handles on the Mach E. Clean, concept-car look to it.

The SS looks interesting. I can see from the photos it has a heads up display, which I really wish the MME had. I also imagine they will have adaptive suspension, especially with 22" wheels on the SS. It looks to be wider than the MME with possibly a lower center of gravity so it might handle better on the back roads. With 557 HP and 648 lb-ft of torque, acceleration should be impressive. A little higher range than the MME and a little faster charging rate than the MME. GM also says it's new battery technology allows it to be be charged to 100% regularly with no battery degradation. It has physical buttons for the climate control on the dash. Assuming the $65,995 price for the SS holds true, it will add a lot of competition to the MME GT.

The downsides I see are red and black are the only interior choices. 22" tires are going to be prone to a lot of road hazard damage and might make the ride very stiff. If it comes with Sumer only tires it will be an added cost for those living places where the temps regularly go below 45F. The parking brake button is on the dash, which is a reach compared to the center console like in the MME.

Since this car is at least a year away, if not longer, I put in a reservation for a SS. After seeing what is happening with the MME and other EV's right now, I would rather be in a place where I am declining a reservation a year from now rather than searching all over for a dealer who has an open allocation for a car I want.

I'm with you.

Another thing that I love is the way the doors close in the MME, which is by far the easiest out of any cars that I've owned, just basically let go and the door closes all the way. No slamming required.

I do think the Blazer looks great. What I find interesting is it can be FWD, AWD, *and RWD*. Are they really building 3 configurations, or is it just the front motor disengaged in an AWD car, like the Korean triplet?

Definitely some competition when it shows up, probably just around the time of a mid cycle refresh perhaps for the MME.....
That's the thing I wish more people got - competition makes both competitors better. I 100% guarantee there are features here that were inspired by the MME (and Tesla, and VW, KIA/Hyundai, etc.) and the next refresh of the MME will hopefully add some of the Blazer EV features that Chevy did better.

I love my MME and don't see anything in the Blazer right now that makes me wish I'd waited, but there's some cool tech Chevy's bringing that I'd love on my MME and I can only hope when it's time to replace my MME that I have a whole range of even more awesome EVs to pick my next car from.

Maybe we have enough EV’s on the road we are getting close to not having to put them all in one category any more. The Blazer would be competition for the Explorer would it not? Well, if Ford had an E-Explorer. This is just not the same class as MME. I had an Explorer before my MME and settled for the size difference because I wanted an EV.

This should be a “Hey Ford, when you bringing out the E-Explorer?” thread.

I'll pass. I'm done with GM for now. My last 2 GM cars have been duds. I had a Buick Encore that leaked oil like a sponge. Now I'm driving an Chevy Impala that has had a lot of issues, the fuse box had to be replaced after battery issues, now it randomly the car will not start on first press of a button. No AC, ect...
I can't wait for my MME select AWD mustang Mach E to be built. I said when I was 18 years old, I'm going to get a Mustang someday. I just didn't know it would be 22 years later.
