Very good comparison. I agree the SE trim is not a good value. Was the SEL trim not available when you bought it? You should check to see how much your SE is worth on Carvana and upgrade.
it wasnt. i was expecting to switch to mme so it didn't matter at the time. i am going to upgrade next year for tax. hyundai will probably still have their tax credit

Nice review, great to get perspective from someone that has both. And I absolutely agree, the Select (SR) RWD is a damn good value as is but with the credits/rebates, makes it an even greater value.

Two months into waiting, with many more months before delivery, I started looking at desirable alternatives to the MME. Markups and delays were everywhere I looked so I "waitlisted" all of them. I've had my new Hyundai Ioniq 5 for two months now. I'm at 166 days of waiting on the MME order with no build date yet. I used my trade-in markup to offset the Hyundai dealer markup. Whenever I get my MME order filled, I expect Ford to honor their price protection and no-ADM promises. I'll decide what to do with the MME whenever it's delivered, August or September, or even 2023. I'm very satisfied with the Ioniq 5. It's so much better for me than the 17-yr-old ICE sports car I traded in. I might compare the Ioniq 5 and MME if I only had the MME.

The MME has enough cargo space for all my coaching gear. The I5 did not. I also like the look of the MME a bit more. The I5 looks like a large hot hatch.

The SE is a terrible value IMO. Cloth seats, no 360 camera, no front sensor, base audio. $46Kish for RWD. SEL minimum but even that trim is missing so much.

The audio isn't great on the Limited either at $56K so if I were to consider a Korean EV... it would be the Genesis GV60 EV.

Neither the Ioniq 5 nor MME are highly-efficient EVs and the 77 kWh battery to me a big negative for range (outside of places like CA where there are chargers everywhere). The big selling points of the i5 is the softer suspension and faster charging speeds... the latter being pretty much useless to me.

Yep, lots of good things to compare and choose from (not to mention delivery delays and markups)

The Ioniq 5 has a narrow rear opening like the Model Y (maybe even narrower). It and the EV6 have surprising little cargo space. I was able to fit wider things into my Mach-E than the Y. The Y of course has the longest/deepest rear cargo area but it's not square like the ID.4 since the raked/sloped hatch eats into usable space (same problem on the MME).

Having happily owned a Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ltd for a couple of months, the only critical measurement remaining for me, at the moment, is the 170 days I've been waiting for my MME order to get a build date. ;)

I pick up my 2022 MME AWD ER tomorrow morning (did the paperwork tonight but they need to "spruce" it up before I take it home). It arrived at the dealership today after an 11 month wait. I think I'm lucky the roads around my hunting grounds have all recently been paved (highways too). Smooth ride to work and the grocery store (most frequent trips). Thanks for the feedback/comparison and it is in line with what I've seen on YouTube.

Both cars sound like a better choice than sticking with ICE :)

There are distinct positives for each car, and I am on the waitlist for both. Personally, I’m hoping I end up with the Mach e, but every review I’ve seen and every person I’ve spoken to who has had the opportunity to drive both have opined that the i5 is the more comfortable ride

The Ioniq 5 for sure. The suspension is close to an ID.4

It is one of the most quietest EVs too:

https://totallyev.net/hyundai-ioniq-5-audio-review-bose-71-sound-system/

"Finally, onto cabin noise, the Ioniq 5 does a good job at keeping exterior noise down to a minimum. Using a sound meter we recorded, 35-36 dBA at a standstill; 52-55 dBA, while driving at 20-30mph; 59 dBA, while driving at 40mph; and 67 dBA when at 70mph. As for when the windows are brought down, the level increases by roughly 10 dBA."

Every other EVs including the EV6, MME, Model Y are noticeably louder (and basically equal). You really notice this in test drives.

https://totallyev.net/kia-ev6-audio-review-should-you-upgrade-to-the-meridian-system/

"Finally, onto cabin noise, the EV6 is competent at keeping exterior noise down to a minimum; nevertheless, it’s no match to the serene Tesla Model 3. Using a sound meter we recorded, 36 dBA at a standstill; 55-57 dBA, while driving at 20-30mph; 61-64 dBA, while driving at 40mph; and 70-74 dBA when at 70mph. As for when the windows are brought down, the level increases by roughly 10 dBA."
