I know there are many posts regarding this issue but I want to share my findings.
Been using the mobile charger on 240V for a month and then it started to have issues, heat up/amber light within 30 minutes. Switched to 120V and there is no problem. So I figured it could be the line, so an electrician was hired to check the line, no problem. The house was built in 2018 and the outlet I used was the best I can buy (hubbell 14-50). So I've been charging on 120V for the past couple of months. Finally, I got impatient and contact a local dealer to check it out. They want the car for at least 2 days but I know there's nothing wrong with the car. Luckily, I found a cool neighbor who lent me her charger to test it out. It worked perfectly! I then looked at the pigtail/adapter and I noticed that mine was a 40A, and hers was a 30A. So I used her pigtail on my charger and again, it worked perfectly. So I think the problem is my 240V pigtail, the 40A version. For those who are having the same issue, perhaps check your pigtail to see if it's the 40A version.
Ford Social Media Team is helping me with the issue. They have been very responsive and helpful. Hopefully I can just do a simple swap of the pigtail.
