Ford is not a software company. We knew this going into the MME, but Ford IS a legacy automaker with 100 years of experience building cars. That is why Ford quality is high on the car, just not the software. Ford is going to use Google software going forward and ditch the current software, which should really help fill the software void.
For cars built after the switch to Android Automotive, yes. Cars currently built won’t get that change. And FordPass is not part of tte car’s OS. It still sucks and odds are it will suck then too.
Going into the MME, we knew Ford had demonstrated the ability to build a rock solid EV in the form of the Focus Electric and the MyFordMobile app was also excellent. Why they seemed to abandoned that perfectly good software and use FordPass is a gigantic mystery to many of us. ???
Agree. There must have been a recent update because now FordPass says crazy things like "Waiting to Charge" when in fact it is actively charging. Or Updated 17 hours ago when it is actually showing current data.
