There's an install near the bay area, contemplating trying this this weekend
Sadly, I would have to charge to get down there. I believe Chesapeake House has EA chargers (as well as Tesla chargers).

While the short cables on version 3 Supercharges are not practical for a Mach E. I would think that opening up to non-Teslas will reduce the usage at EA, EVGo, etc. and thus indirectly benefit us Mach E drivers. Eventually Tesla will roll out version 4 Superchargers that have longer cables.

Yea curious to know if that is the only way the cable will reach the charging port. I would be afraid to leave my car there like that lol.
Guess the best scenario is if the Mach-e can park at the very last/first charger if the parking space next to it is also available so only part of the car is in the actual Tesla parking space. Looks like the F-150 Lightning charging port is better suited since it is far closer to the front bumper of the vehicle.

Just to be clear, there were 8 chargers open, I was the only one there at 745am and 22 degrees outside. I just wanted to see this was real, I only charged for 5 minutes.

Maybe there can be an after market extension cable. Due to the power it would need to be short but 3 feet would have been all I needed today.
Obviously not a problem today.

But what do you do when they’re mostly full?

Do you block other chargers? Have to wait until multiple are open so you “fit?”

I could definitely see people losing their minds if they show up and you’re blocking the only other available charger.

Are these chargers marked somewhere so one knows it will charge a CCS vehicle?

In Norway Tesla is expanding many stations with additional chargers and placing them a bit differently so that you can fit the nose of the car between the chargers (where the bollards are in the picture).

You still occupy the "wrong" charger with regards to the Teslas so they give you the evil eye.

Interestingly there aren't bollards in Norway, just a silly Tesla-logo on a thin pole between each charger.

There are new signs with a QR code to link on how to charge a non-Tesla at the New York sites. Plus the Magic Dock is visible change to each SC. Probably the best way to find them is in the Tesla app

I'm not sure the V4 chargers will completely solve this. I've had issues at Chargepoint (CP125?) DCFCs and their cables look longer than V4s...

Agreed until V4’s are actually live we will not know. This past Sunday I was able to visit the Verona site with my Mach E And while the MagicDock wasn’t yet operational, I did try the Tesla cable and it seemed another 12-18 inches would make this work when pulling straight in and not blocking other spots

its Hyundai Ioniq 5, ID4, and Polestars with free charging that tend to camp the most at EA. I don’t think they’re going anywhere soon because of free EA charging. Bolt EVs also sit around on EA a lot but that’s cuz they’re slow af at DC charging (18kW at 82% and they’ve already been charging for 75 mins).

Worked perfectly. But the short cable is a problem.

Does the cable have two ends? A CCS and a Tesla NACS? Or are there two different cables?

Yes it is meant to be 90 degrees but the cable wouldn't reach. I was the only one there so no issue pulling up this way.

Ah there we go (shot of the end of the cable); sorry I should have read all the posts before asking my first question. I'm so bad about TL; DR lol.

If that snow wasn’t there, would the MME be able to get close enough parked nose-in?
