Closed track, picture in front of the tree, keeping everyone waiting on a time slip...whole thing feels like a publicity move.

12.7 @ 109mph
You think it's that slow? I'm guessing 12.1 @ 114

That’ll be a serious miss. The 4X already does [email protected] best. 140/200 extra HP/TQ and a similar weight *should* net at least another 8-10mph and the much harder launch should get the ET down by over a second. Plus, the Tesla Turtle Performance can do high 11s-low 12s in the 1-teens and it’s a performance target according to Ford.

Agree, this should be mid 11 second quarter mile car.

If only there was an easy way for OP to put this debate to rest................................

Well, I did it! Gotta get to bed but have some great stuff to share in the next few days! My friends, I’m having fun to say the least!

Update: Took morning off PTO to assemble data, videos, pictures... long and arduous. But here are initial best splits / times of three runs:

Track Splits:
1/4 mile: 12.657 sec @ 100.02mph
1000ft: 10.433 sec
1/8 mile: 8.03 sec @ 86.67 mph
330ft: 5.26 sec
60ft: 1.99 sec

Dragy in same run:
0-10 in 0.58
0-20 in 1.20
0-30 in 1.80
0-40 in 2.44
0-50 in 3.21
0-60 in 4.12
0-60(1ft) in 3.89

On road test40 minutes later, I recorded a 3.78 0-60(1ft roll) and 192.13 distance, no squeal of front wheels. (again, all traction control on)

Notes:
  • Will publish more tonight/tomorrow
  • Full road safety measures on - this is NOT in track mode (ie. called Unbridled Extend), so all traction control, etc. are on. Next time will try with track mode turned on. Likely get better results.
  • First time on track, but think I did pretty well at launch hitting the last yellow/green.
  • Battery charged at only 72% at start of track tests --- traveled 50 miles to nearest charger 20 miles from track, charged to 80% then drove to track, result 72% at track
  • Tires - cold pressure are 39psi, warm was reporting 42psi
  • Top speed seems to be governed with little acceleration past 100mph, max got up to about 108mph without Unbridled Extend turned on.
  • Admittedly, driver/owner is heavy set - plus video & photo gear, mounts, +125lbs over std driver with no cargo
Questions/Notes:
  1. How to charge near 100% at track in rural areas? Track owner and I chuckled when I asked if he had 240V outlet anywhere.
  2. Should tire pressure be lowered for test on drag strip? (if so, what pressure?)
  3. Front tire squeal due to front end rising at launch, creating lower traction, does it make sense to add weight to the front for more traction?
  4. In Unbridled Extend mode, if no traction control, is it best to keep the go pedal at max and spin the wheels? Or lighten up? That could take some trial and error.

I'm pretty sure unbridled extend limits peak power to prevent the battery/other electronics from overheating to allow for "extended time" on a track before the car goes into limp mode, and therefore would probably be slower in a straight line. Regular unbridled with traction control off is probably your best bet if you can get a good launch.

Cold batteries have less voltage but I kind of doubt that was problem (however if they are very hot they may reduce power).

Lower tire pressure may help as they are probably set high for reduced rolling resistance (range).

Video from the stands --- not sure if this video is inserting correctly:

note: this was the first launch, drove over water at start gate, so wheels were wet and you can see obvious squeal and stutter at launch.

Weird trap speed is lower than regular MME ER. Unbridled extend is for road course and not drag strip as I've translated from the prior videos.

This is really disappointing with above a 4 second 0-60, and trap speed below regular MME. I don't understand how that's possible honestly.

Yeah trap speed is lower than regular MME ER. Unbridled extend is for road course and not drag strip as I've translated from the prior videos. Probably should have done unbridled (no extend) and traction control off.
That's why I wondered about it even being in the 12s. The S197 GT500s were in the high 12s, but trapped in the mid 110s stock. Obviously the MME with AWD and instant torque launches better and makes up a lot of the ET early. Feels extremely fast off the line, but doesn't pull hard at higher speeds.

Some tire chirp is actually not a bad thing.

Thank you for posting some results and some video. The video from the stands seems to just be posting as an audio file.

Interesting. I thought I read the GTPE was speed limited somewhere in the low 120s? The tires have a Y speed rating, so not sure if it's limited due to aero or cooling?

That slip is all over the place, ECU is definitely doing something wonky. The 1.8 60' is pretty awesome compared to my 2.1 especially on stock tire sizes but the MPH and ET are not lining up at all. Definitely needs to be in track mode for best effort.
