>>Also try your time after you hammer your TSLA 3-4 times the same hour. You will get throttled.

I didn't know about that, but it seems like a good compromise to me.
I'm not sure who you're quoting but this isn't true. I've done numerous dragy tests from 85%to 75% (2020 Model Y) and there's nothing getting throttled via software. Pulling info from my car's CAN bus also shows no discernable difference in power output between 89% and 75%. Attached is a 30-70 mph run I did last winter. Even with a battery only at 81F (max power is around 109F) and 75% SoC, it put out decent numbers repeatedly.

You guarantee it? How many M3Ps and MYPs has it happened to so far?
Wrong, that's the bumper to bumper. Maybe you should check again.
Yeah, battery warranty on the 3 and Y is 8 years, 120k miles.

All kinds of MYPs out there running like this guy. I’m sorry, that just ain’t so scary a time that I’d be shitting myself if I were a GT buyer. Let’s see what Ford does to the media drive cars, we’ll know where the GT stands by then. And that 60ft is dog shit too. My RWD 3950lb sedan does a 2.03 with the damn TCS turned on while running summer tires on a 39F morning. ?

Edit: I added a couple more just to illustrate the point. There have been a few posters that have cherry picked the fastest times out there so I just grabbed some too, not the slowest ones either.

So, if a GTPE runs 12.5s on what some claim is like 200HP after 50 or 70 or who gives AF mph, what will run when it’s doing it properly? 11.9s? 12.0s?

A lot of the it is one and done thinking comes for the early model s, the model 3 / Y really doesn't suffer from those issues, sure it will eventually throttle back after a while but so do all EV even if it could allow maximum power all the way down through the charge state no EV is going to let you launch down there as it quite rightly makes maximizing the range far more import at lower states of charge.

You’re right to a degree. But, having personal experience running them I can say most don’t want to run below 50-60% SOC and they absolutely will make excuses about multiple runs after you trash them on a 40-80 or 60-100 hit. Believe that.

I did 15 runs from 6:08 PM to 7:59 PM and 91% to 71% at the drag strip in MYP

11.8 - 11.9 were all of my times and this is hot lapping some.

GT owners should be pissed. I would be….faster then a lot of cars out there including Slow SS sedans

But I agree also that simply building excellent EVs, and improving the charging network, is all that is really needed.
Those excellent EVs will also need to become price-competitive. A large majority of the world's population is far from wealthy, and can't afford to pay the current price premium for electric cars.

Well, have you considered how much more fun it would have been to do 0-60 in 3.8 and then coast the rest of the 1/4?

Hurray for you. Problem is I’ll eat your ass up on a roll like an Accord 2.0T decimating a GTPE on a 50 hit. Those 112-114s ain’t gonna cut it. Stick to running pre- fix GTPEs ? Plus, here’s a little secret: I bought my SS for the handling and to take to tracks like Driveway Austin and COTA, not to drag race. Phenomenal chassis tuning by the Holden engineering group. It just turns out that it’s pretty good at both.

Here’s your highway view, troll:

He must have been talking about me. I only trapped 111 mph with a 1200 DA. ?

I dunno why but as easy as it would be to make my SS faster, I’m not interested and just want my next car to be faster.

Part of it is I like the idea of being able to accelerate fast without my exhaust letting everyone in the area know what’s going on.

Nah, he’s after me. He’s butt hurt because I said Tesla FSD stands for fucking stupid donors instead of full self driving. I’d be mad too if I spent $10K on shit that’s going on 4 years overdue.

And 111 on a 1200 DA is about 112.5 so go get him ?
