My internal monologue:

“well that sucks, I want it to be faster!”

“yeah but when do you even go over 70?”

“Almost never, but I want it to be ABLE to be faster”

“What, do you have such a fragile ego that you’re afraid people will make fun of your car?”

“Maybe? But bragging rights and performance will also help with reviews and resale value.”

“Oh just buy the damn thing already”

“Good thing I have 2 more months before it shows up.”
It’s obviously a car that should be trapping whatever the MYP is….
So why it won’t is what we need to find out. Or else Ford’s losing my business…. My car should be here end of September beginning of October. They have until then.

We’re still waiting on those Predator revving vid clips, bro.

And you can go put all of your passenger seats and other items back in your MYP now. ?

Yeah, but over 70 really isn't uncommon on the interstate and if you can't accelerate as needed at that speed, it could an issue. Now the times don't seem that horrible (i.e. not really a safety concern at this point), bit still not ideal.

If the 70-90 times were in the minute+ range I would be much more concerned. We rented a diesel Golf in Ireland that absolutely could not accelerate at highway speed (think 15+ seconds per mph gained) and that just did not feel safe so I stayed below the speed limit in the slow lane the entire time. Hopefully won't have to do that in the GT!

1.865 on 60’, but 5.137 at 330, which is not as quick as that 60’ would suggest.

I think it’s got huge potential but is dropping off even in first 300 feet.

I think the problem starts even earlier than 60+ mph.

Tape shows Standard GT 1.865 on 60’ - I think that’s the best time we’ve seen yet, and very strong by any standard.

But 5.137 at 330, which is not as quick as that 60’ would suggest.

So the vehicle has major potential, but the rate of acceleration seems to be subtly dropping even by 330 feet.

Then obviously a very pronounced drop off by 70.

The initial launch is so strong… I really hope the declining stretch past 60’ can be addressed with an update.
It definitely drops off before that.

That it really should though.

This is what 600 lb ft of tq with “only” 480 hp and a 1 speed car looks like.

Peak tq and acceleration will happen around 40 mph.

That should be “as designed.”

However, it shouldn’t fall on its face at 60, 70, 80 etc. They could, and should design it to still have 400 hp or so at those speeds.

Instead it’s accelerating like it has 200 hp at those speeds.

they’re doing it to save battery range…. But it’s too brutal right now and they need to scale it better. Heck add a drag strip mode that doesn’t give a crap.
And a “performance mode” that doesn’t care about battery range.
Something has to give.

So these cars are as fast as a tuned Audi A6? I don't plan to drag or race mine but I would like something at least close to the MYP. Can't wait for Ford to take action.
That A6 3.0T had pulley, tune (ECU/trans), heat exchanger and 100 octane gas.

.8 sec / 5 mph isn’t close in drag racing… that was about 1.5 bus lengths I put on him

Someone just posted this…

X233, base GT with 72% charge.

“The GT really slows down after 80 mph or so. I ran it in Unbridled mode.
My second run was against a modified Grand National. Same deal, left it sitting but got walked down. Unbridled extend mode, slowest run.
Last run was against a modified newer GTI. Unbridled mode, no extend.”

Prepared to get decimated by everything from a roll or after 1/8 mile… GT’s have 0 top end until Ford changes something.

0-60 will be almost as good as MYP but then MYP will take off like a rocket as it’s about 6 mph faster in 1/8 and 13-15 mph faster in 1/4 (huuuuge difference)

He must have lifted, it was because his SoC was low, it's because he was in the wrong mode, it's because he had bad technique, it's because his tires were overinflated, it's because the moon is in the wrong phase, it's because the driver is overweight, it's because the track wasn't prepped, Ford will fix it I promise, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.

I thought you were driving a model Y in this race, not a Mach E?

It will be interesting seeing this car evolve over the next few years. Will it get a 2 speed gearbox for top end like the Taycan? Will it get an 800 volt battery like the Taycan? I feel like the MME might need these things if it's going to live up to the Mustang name in any form above and beyond the GT badge.

I'm still looking forward to my MME GT and it's a full second faster in the 1/4 compared to what I have now. It's going to be a blast to own.

Sorry when you say “these” I thought you meant MYP… yeah Mach is as fast as an A6 tune/pulley from a dig. Highway no chance for the Mach E
