From where it is sitting and as some one familiar with most of the cars on the list as a data point the Ken Clarke - Rover SD1 Vitesse (HEPOLITE) which has a similar time is a 1980's touring car that has circa 340 NA hp, once the turbo era of touring cars started in 1986 is was uncompetitive as those vehicles had circa 560 hp one of which is a Ford and is also on the list sitting up at #11 both vehicles are RWD so no AWD traction advantage. This is the list. I don’t find it very helpful since I don’t recognize almost any of the cars named on it. https://www.goodwood.com/grr/event-...speed/2021/7/fos-2021-timed-shootout-results/
Either way, that doesn’t seem like it lines up with performance barely beating an F-150 and V6 Durango to me. It also doesn’t seem like it’s throttling power after only a short initial burst from the launch like many have speculated.
Of more interest to me is what is sitting in at number #7, will need to do more research on it as if it is running to true WRC spec levels of power and not running unrestricted, then barely beating a V6 Durango seems a fair comparison lol.
However when it comes to the timed runs at goodwood you can never tell if everyone is pushing it, some of the vehicles that run have a lot of history behind them so are somewhat babied up the hill as drivers don't want to damage it going all out, while a lot of the time manufactures showing a new model are taking advantage of the publicity so want to make sure there are plenty of pictures being taken and shared so don't want to go flying past the crowds.
