Just reviewed the recorded video from this camera - it's not the best with a yellow tint to it and is slightly choppy. I'm using a 128GB Samsung high speed/high endurance card, so I know it's not the write speed. On video quality alone I probably would pass on this camera. A video sample is available here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2y1f34bf8k206bz/20220927125824_0000016.MP4?dl=0

Thanks for posting the video. While I've seen better, it doesn't seem to bad to me... 🤷‍♂️

For a dash cam video that I'll probably never view unless I'm in an accident or someone messes with my car, it's good enough for me too. I was more interested in a dash cam that doesn't look like someone just stuck it on the window or mirror. Very happy with the OEM look.

Thanks for posting the sample! Looks great for the purpose to me. Is this the 2K or 4K camera?

Video quality isn't that bad compared to Blackvue (which I have). I'm more interested in the interface of the app used to access these videos. Can anyone post up pics that show how recordings are accessed?

That video is in 4K, HOWEVER it will not play in for 4K unless you select it in settings (gear icon). It's set to AUTO by default which will play in either 720P or 1080P depending on your connection but it will never play in 4K by default.

I suggest you try looking at the video again in 4K. Like I said earlier, for a dash cam that I will rarely use unless of an issue, I think the video is just fine.

My FITCAMX arrived today. I ordered the 4K front and 1080P rear cams plus the fuse box cable kit. Thought folks might be interested in photos of what comes in the box. I hope to install it this weekend.

Here's what the front cam setup looks like. The housing quality is very high (though I've not tried to fit it yet).

The cam itself (with protective plastic film still on it):

Rear cam (with protective plastic film still on it) and cable. Connectors are pretty streamlined, which should make installation easier:

More after installation.....
This is a really nice clean install and I would do this in a heartbeat if this setup included parking protection using cellular connections to give you real time notifications (similar to all those doorbell cameras for our homes). I have a BlackVue 900 that does all of that but of course has to be mounted on the windshield. Maybe one day they will make a version.

Yes, that would be an awesome feature for sure...

OK I got my wiring roughs done other than the fuse box (waiting for my fuse taps to arrive). Running the cable to the rear camera was loads of not fun. Trying to reinstall my passenger side A-pillar cover I broke one of the retaining tabs. 🤬🐩 The thing had continual interference at the interface with the defroster duct and when I went to pop the clips back in the upper retaining tab broke due to the pressure. 😱🐩

Here are some pix:

Rear camera signal cable pulled through the rubber wire pathway at the top of the liftgate:

Now, questions for the illucidated. I was figuring on using Fuse 7 for unswitched and Fuse 4 for switched power. Yea or nay? 😊🐩

I only used the app to configure the camera settings. You can access the recordings through the app if you really want to, but I find it much easier to just pop the mini SD card out and watch the recordings on a computer.

The plastic work at the passenger side headliner was hanging a bit low so I heated it up and bent it. I went too far. 🤪🐩 I figure it might relax back toward the as-molded state after sitting in the in-car heat for a while.

And the obligatory through the windshield shot. Photo sucks because of light conditions:

Yikes. Do you think it was too hot or too much force? It might be worth heating it again and trying to undo a bit of the bend.

Yeah, I put a bunch of force on it since I read that Mark had to heat his three times. I can back it off (I think) at a later date. I just want to get it running for now and order a new A-pillar cover. No clue how I am gonna get it to fit though. 🤪🐩

Any trick to getting the cable through the boot? As much as I tried, I can't even get close.
