My Mach-E Day 1 Impressions

Here's some data from our first little trip to Ikea. We left at 100% charge (though it had not stopped charging yet). I started the car in the garage while it was plugged in for about 15 minutes before we left to warm it up. We set the cruise for 70. The lane centering and adaptive cruise are just like my wife's '20 Explorer. Cabin temp set to 67 degrees. It was 29 degrees outside, clear roads, unknown wind. This is only the one way info, we took a different route home because of the extra load sticking out, LOL.

Basically no traffic holding us up, just a couple lights on the 8 miles before we got to the expressway. So this is basically 9 miles of city @50 mph and 35 miles expressway @70 mph.

My wife was charging her phone on the wireless pad too.

We arrived at 86% state of charge.

Here is what A Better Route Planner says we should have arrived at 77% using the same figures and using the default configuration for my vehicle Premium 4X.

ChargePoint Home Flex on 14-50 plug.

Dumb question but would this Chargepoint charge faster than Ford mobile charger if they are both on 14-50?

Also, does the Ford mobile charger allow user to specify start time using the app?

Hey, Michigander! How does the Mach E do in snow? I just came indoors from over an hour of shoveling (I'm in 'Sconsin, the other side of Lake Michigan) and we got pasted last night. Have you driven anywhere in winter conditions, yet?

Yes. The mobile charger is limited to 32 amps. This station can do 40 amps on a 50 amp circuit. It's not much and if charging overnight I doubt you'd know the difference.

I think it's linked to my profile. I've been driving it hard. I'll just add that I think the GOM is pretty conservative.

Thanks for the trip data. It doesn't surprise me that ABRP's MME guess was off. I will stick with the MME's adaptive GOM and trip planning.

I think the range estimation is just off due to other prior driving habits. He used 14% of the battery to drive 42 miles. Based on that, the remaining 86% should do 258 miles.

No chargers. I looked on PlugShare before we left.

Nope, just as is.

We turned it off and on, and really leaving it on you still get the slide and swing like a mustang. It does not drive like other BEV. What is your take on the tires? I will be replacing them. When we hit over the 100 mph mark sound was loud.
