Chewing on the term "mild hybrid". ?

GM had some trucks around 2000 that were mild hybrids.

Typically a "mild hybrid" is a hybrid where there is no electric only method of propulsion.

that's a long-standing term for a hybrid that can't run in pure EV mode. Both my Honda Civic Hybrids (first generation and second generation) were referred to that way, for example.

I don't know enough (or really care enough) about the BMW line to know what would be applicable for them.
