Fingers crossed: Marlin is supposed to come home tomorrow. Alignment went fine last week. MD Collision Center is finalizing last supplement with Allstate (a couple of final parts) and doing one last quality check.

While Marlin was at Koons Ford for the alignment, they updated lots of modules, including some updates that are newer than those in the OTAs. They reinstalled the advanced analytics token, too. Hopefully passenger door will unlock with fob and PaaK now. Unfortunately, the new USB hub they installed didn't work either. They are getting another in and having the engineers come up with a plan B in case the new part fails too.

Anyway, it's looking good for having Marlin for the Mustang events this Saturday (Mustang Madness in Manchester MD -- a parked event with lots of Mustangs) and Sunday (Mustang Club of MD cruise from Annapolis to Shenandoah NP). Getting ready to ice up the frunk!

Also learned the last painting was done on April 21, so I can schedule the PPF and ceramic for a couple of weeks from now.

Glad to hear this and I wish you good luck with Marlin in the future!

And no front license plate bracket :)
Right. Forgot to post the other picture:
Here’s how they made sure my front license plate bracket stayed in-installed

Looks as good as new - and the most ridiculous way to delete front license plate bracket ever!
I really feel for you having to wait so long after having waited so long early in your ownership. You sir, possess out of this world patience. I suppose when one has this happen to them there is no other way to be, to save your sanity.
Enjoy the refreshed snout on Marlin!

Man you really went out of your way to get that front bracket removed. ? Glad you finally got Marlin back...looks like you beat my front end repair bill by several thousand bucks!

Definitely glad the damage was primarily cosmetic. Hope you are both doing OK.

That said, to your point, definitely not the most ideal route to getting a no-plate front bumper. Hopefully you still have your Craig's bracket. :)
Bracket installed. Waiting for the adhesive to cure.

Clean front-end with no bracket looks so much better!

I added a duct tape tag to the loop to lengthen the pull.

I came up with a really elegant & simple solution for keeping the ripcord handy: a large paper clip.
I attached a paper clip to that cable passing past the hood bumper, then attached the other end to the ripcord

Once the beauty covers are back on, the loop stays right next to that bumper and easy to fish out with a finger.

Marlin had a great time hanging out with a whole herd of ponies today at the Mustang Madness in Manchester, MD show put on by the Beltway Mustang Club (even though those other ponies were rather smelly and noisy).

They weren't sure where how to classify Marlin, so they put us in the specialty class. I parked between a Saleen and a Rousch Stage 3.

I guess it helped to break the ice to have a Frunk full of home-brew beer -- and thanks to the idea from someone on here, I even had a V-8 under the hood.

Only had a couple of #notamustang types, surprisingly 30-somethings. There was a bit of a snarky comment by the organizer at awards time about there being a Mach E (I was the only one). Oh well.

Lots of really favorable comments, some people really thinking they might get one, and a good chance to introduce people to the electric future. It was a great chance to spread the news about how great it is to drive electric.

I’m out of the loop (pun intended), what is the purpose of the ripcord?

You're a brave man entering the lions den like that! I faced the same thing years ago when I first entered the Thunderbird shows/contests. They didn't know where to put me the first couple of shows and I, too, got a few snarky comments from the "real" Thunderbird people. By the third show I was friends with most of them and other retro Birds also were starting to come. I think it will be the same for the Mach E. Below is at a show later on.
