Only appropriate to have a photo of a Mach E in front of a mural of Michael Faraday (in Ocala, FL)

Here's a shot of Marlin feeding at a Tesla trough at the Tru Hotel outside Florence, SC. Two Tesla destination chargers, no J-1772s. A TeslaTap can be quite handy!

Unfortunately, our trip and Marlin's good looks were marred by an incident on I-20 in South Carolina. We didn't see the original semi shed its retread but we did see the U-Haul truck sling what looked like an entire retread into the air in front of us. June swerved, but not far enough and Marlin took a retread to the face. I'm expecting it will be a few thousand dollars in body work, including all the front end nose pieces and at least the left-side vents (right-sed vents still working). The front bumper sensor on the left side was lost, too.

Grabber Blue (actually Electric Blue) Duck Tape to the rescue. Lateral. front sensor (right in front of the front tire) was taped back in place, too.

While a few automated functions are not working (parking aid, for example), Lane Centering and Adaptive/Intelligent Cruise Control worked fine for the trip home. Duck Tape is still holding, too.

We're working with Allstate now.

On the bright side, I should be able to end up with a front end that doesn't have the license plate holder.

Definitely glad the damage was primarily cosmetic. Hope you are both doing OK.

That said, to your point, definitely not the most ideal route to getting a no-plate front bumper. Hopefully you still have your Craig's bracket. :)

Poor Marlin. It's a shame it didn't hit the mustang on the front center. You could have had it replaced with a GT "grill".
