Hi all,

Here's a video of charging from 10-88%, followed by a graph of a different charging session from 80-100%. The BMS was cold gating at the start (in the words of Bjorn Nyland), since temps in Chicago have dropped somewhat. Setting the charger as the destination in the nav didn't preheat the battery. I turned on the cabin heat about 5-10 minutes before I arrived, but the pack temperature didn't budge. I restarted the charging session a couple times once the battery warmed up to see if it would hold the peak charging speeds longer, but it didn't. It definitely wasn't overheating, so it's still a time-based thing...

I am trying to read the graph.
1. I think it says that charging rate continues at no less than ~30kW (the light blue line) all the way to ~97% full, which would be great - roughly 22 minutes to charge from 80% to 97%.
2. But it also appears to show 42 minutes (assuming the numbers across the middle of the chart are minutes of charging time) from the start of the charge (80% full) to where the charging rate drops below ~30kW (~97% full).

Either way, it's a big improvement, but 22 minutes would be far better than 42 minutes.

Much more reasonable looking charging profile! Thanks for collecting the data. Mind posting the actual CSV from CarScanner? I can clean it up a bit with a python script I wrote which makes it easier to look at in Excel (resample the data to a consistent timestep).

Here you go! Thanks for the script; not sure why CarScanner has such weird logging.

Hi, I think something went wrong with the upload - this file just has an error message in it? You might try putting the .csv into a zip file and uploading again.

There we go! Here is the file merged - I resampled to 5s intervals and added a HV Charger Power column calculated from the voltage and current. Should be a little easier to review.

My phone refuses to open the zip file. Any chance you can post the graph of what we're looking at?

Separately, does anyone know if the car actually charges faster from 10-80%?

This file only shows charging from 80-98%, was there a file available for the 10-88% session?

Would you mind posting the .BRC file, too?
We could view it directly in Car Scanner data recording menu.

No video but here's a series of pics:

I took advantage of today's free EA charging. Unfortunately the charger was slow from the start:

Initial peak only to 96kW

Sustained charging of ~75kW down to 60kW from 50-80%

80% wall reached but only dropped to the mid-30s rather than the mid-teens.

Stopped at 91%. No need to stress the battery or wait for slow charging.

Confirmed: free, free, free, free, free
