The real question will be is this "lockable" to your identity...so if the car gets stolen, someone can't just reset the car and make the GPS tracking disappear

(Insurance companies will enjoy this too....)

Yes, for new car delivery. So more accurate info than calling the rail lines 800 number.

Well. Just Chatted in and the Ford chat jockeys do not have access to this. Also pestered my sales guy about it because, dude, where is my car..

One would suspect that if this is the new standard the old system will stop getting updates considering it states in thelinked article the old system Sunsets in February.

The person said it was dealer only, and they can only view the VINs going to their dealer. However, they are able to share link or screen shot via the tool.

This is actually one of the things I ranted to Ford about during the cluster that was my delivery process where they lost tracking for about a month. It makes sense that a vehicle with GPS and an always on cell connection should be able to report its position when asked.

I'm glad they finally got this so folks don't have to go through the pain I did.

Apparently dealers have to opt for this sw. Mine said they do not have this one :⁠-⁠!

That's super cool. Flipped this to my Canadian dealer and he said for now it's USA only. They are still stuck with Vehicle Locator Plus in Canada.
