From my limited experience, it is fine if the DC/DC converter is running, it does during some updates, not during others.

Confirm you are not plugged into a L2 charger (probably not, but we know that could be a problem with programming), then I'm afraid your going to need to escalate your question to the expert @breeves002 :)
Haha yeah maybe his expertise could help out here! Idk I'm just gonna go for a drive and come back later and see if it's still grumpy... This is my last day of FDTS so I need this to work lol

Didnā€™t happen to me when I did mine. I have seen similar oddities before though.

If you run the FDRS installer again, one of the options is clear all FDRS Data when it reinstalls over the top. Iā€™ve found that has helped me with previous weird issues.

Did you order from Rotunda, or another vendor (assuming that's possible)? Definitely follow up with them if it was Rotunda (Helm actually ships the device apparently) to see if they have an update. I did a couple of times just to see where things were. Always the same answer though - no idea when it would ship. I only found out about it shipping when I received a FedEx notice that a package was inbound.

No big loss on the DCFC thing I suppose. I've rarely used it. Just a nice to have sort of thing I guess.
Finished updating all of the modules except for APIM today. Apparently the APIM does not like SanDisk flash drives. I'm trying a suggestion from another post to see if an external hard disk will work. That update takes way too long to copy for some reason... If I do not include the time it took to troubleshoot the USB issue, all of the other modules probably took less than two hours to complete. My Leaf provided the 12v power supply I needed (looked weird as hell, but worked...).
I ordered through a dealer because I get a $400 discount off retailā€¦ I inquired again. They had like 150 of them on order.

The DC-DC doesn't even appear to be turning off... It's at 13.6v. I tried clearing the DTCs but same behavior
DC DC sometimes will stay on during updates just depends.

Restart FDRS and be sure youā€™re on the latest version. Also sometimes after an update runs it can get stuck saying it didnā€™t run. Ignore it if thatā€™s whatā€™s happened.

Tried multiple restarts of FDRS, latest version. Also reset the car (battery pull) multiple times.

I successfully updated the first two door modules, the first door module also had this error, but when I re-ran the update it went through just fine... But these last two are the ones that are really giving me trouble

Great insight. I have an early build of a year ago this week. Have 8k miles and haven't been back to the dealer since picking it up in February. Probably just wait until 10k service to get anything done.
Lots of upcoming one year ? ?.

If you go back to the page where it lists updates to be done, do you still see the ones giving you the problem on the list? If it got stuck, but really updated, that module might drop off the update list?

Your dealer clearly was more amenable to helping you. When I asked, they referred me to the parts department. The parts department said "we don't sell diagnostic tools". Needless to say, it was a bust. Granted, one of the technicians who was at the service writer's desk when I was asking about it basically mentioned the same thing, that they couldn't even order a VCM2, much less the newest one.

Well I spend about a quarter of a million dollars a year with Ford parts with my business so they're pretty helpful.

Odd the parts department said they couldn't order one...they sure can.

Welp...my license expired an hour earlier than it said it would. So I guess I'm just going to have 2 of 4 doors updated ?ā€ā™‚. Anybody know which doors E and F are? Those are the ones I was successful inupdating.

Noticed a number of new updates in FDRS this evening, November 19, 2021 (actually went out to some FDRS data logger work). As @breeves002 always cautions, there may be no need to do any of these right away, or ever. I started at 5:25 pm. It was going pretty fast (under 1/2 hour), until the RFA module which I started at 5:56pm. No idea how VIN specific these are, my FE is from Dec 2020

FYI this batch of updates is for a new customer satisfaction program that was announced to dealers yesterday. They are aimed at solving a bunch of issues and adding improvements to early build vehicles built before mid-June 2021. The OBCC and BECM updates are slated to reduce DC fast charging times. Think of this update batch as Mach-E service pack 1.

E and F are the left and right front doors respectively.

Well I guess my back seat passengers will have to suffer with sub-par door software ??.

I started running through these updates myself, and I think I may have found an FDRS bug?

On the door module updates, it keeps popping up this message just after starting.

As you can see, the update still appears to be running behind the warning to turn off the ignition. If I follow the instruction it immediately fails (obviously since it was in the middle of the update).

Did anyone else encounter this?
Iā€˜m having the same problem with all 4 of the door control modules. They fail every time. Iā€™ve tried all the troubleshooting you did, but still no luck.

Still no luck. I get the same "Ignition to off" message even though it looks like the module is still updating behind it. If I hit OK on that message, I get this failure:

Ford Mustang Mach-E 11/19/2021 New Module Updates in FDRS FE MME (Dec, 2020 mfgr date) 1637755730449

So I decided to not hit OK on the "Ignition to off" message in the hope that the module would just keep updating behind it and actually finish. I left it that way for about 45 minutes, but the progress bar behind the "Ignition to off" message just kept starting over after reaching the end. I'm assuming it doesn't really take over 45 minutes for these door module updates? My FDRS license expires tomorrow, so I've still got some time, but I'm not sure what else to try.
