Well, I picked up my car from the dealer (HVAC update and brake line connecter replacement) and on the way home heard a funny noise.

I turned off the HVAC entirely to make the car as sound-free as possible.

There's a mid-range rumble/whistle that starts when you get up to 20-25 and gets louder as you go faster. The car did not have this noise before and I don't notice any obvious frunk panel problems. Definitely sounds like its coming from the front. The noise did not seem to be affected by steering direction. It seemed to reach a pitch and then just stay there.

I made a voice memo recording of it by holding my iPhone over the dash towards the windshield.

Here's a clip (audio only); acceleration starts about 7 sec. in; you can hear it by the time you reach about 13 sec.

Any thoughts? I've called the dealer, and haven't heard back from my voicemail yet.

Wow. Maybe I've been supremely lucky with having a noise-free car up until now.

I am hoping they find the source tomorrow because I will not keep a car that is this loud now. I mean, it's a loud tone. Way, way louder than this morning.

I now have an appointment to take it in tomorrow afternoon. And fortunately they do have an MME on the lot so if they shrug it off I'll suggest we do a comparison drive.

Weird, I've got a '21 with acoustic glass so maybe that's why

Maybe it's one of those right front transaxle issues.

Dunno - definitely not wind noise. I am hoping that when they did the brake work they had to remove something like a plastic panel on the underside and it's not entirely secured tightly.

That definitely crossed my mind but the timing seems really weird. I have to do a longer drive tomorrow morning that will hopefully give me some more data before I take it to the dealer in the afternoon.

I hear front motor gear whine, which is typically heard at 25-35 mph. Did yours not have that before?

Is that what the continuous tone that makes up most of the recording sounds like? No, I haven't heard that before.

There's the whine of the motor when acceleration starts but once its been under power there's been no continuous tone. Most of the noise I have ususally heard is wind noise

Hi there. This noise concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Mach-E. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.
