ShockFlo J1772 EVs Adapter, Tesla to J1772 Adapter, Max 48A & 250V, Tesla Charger Adapter with Anti-Drop Lock, Compatible with Tesla High Powered Wall Connector, Destination Charger, Mobile Connector https://www.amazon.com/ShockFlo-J1772-Adapter-Tesla-Destination/dp/B0BCF4JQB4/

Note, similar to the Teslatap, and any other Tesla to J1772 adapter currently on the market, these cannot be used at superchargers.

But for just a little more than 100 dollars, this gives a smaller storage footprint than some of the other adapters I've seen out there from Lectron and others.

Is that an affiliate link? Does the site automatically add them?

The adapter looks similar to a bunch of similar products made in china and sold by fly-by-night word salad companies on Amazon. My fakespot browser plug-in gives their reviews an "F" and says only 27.5% of the reviews are legitimate.

I have a Teslatap and am happy with it. It doesn't get hot when you use it like a lot of the cheap ones do.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't see viable teslatap alternatives pop up often, so I thought I'd share. Thanks for flagging it.

Sorry my post may have come off as abrasive, that wasn't intentional.

Is it UL and/or ETL listed for safety?

No locks on the adapter, so be wary about using at public locations.

Just bought one. For that price, I’ll give it a try. I have a home charger and would only use it at hotels.

Here’s my issue with it, it’s just too tight of a fit to the charge port. You really have to struggle to plug and unplug it. It’s a hassle for everyday use. I decided ultimately to swap my Tesla charger out for a Wallbox, installed on Saturday. I’ll keep the adapter in the car for use on the road if I encounter a Tesla destination charger (won’t work with superchargers unfortunately).

I tried the Lectron and the ShockFlo. I thought they were both too tight. I wound up returning the Lectron and keeping the ShockFlo since it was significantly less expensive.
That’s interesting. The Lectron is a perfect fit in my MME and my wife’s RAV4 Prime. I guess it’s a YMMV situation.

Could be that my charge port is defective or too small I suppose. But I’ve never had an issue at a public charger or now with the Wallbox, but who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️

It seems like this should never be an issue. That's why standards exist. Yet, here we are.
