If they deliver about the same rate that they did in June Ford would hit it in Q3. It is possible though with the August shutdown it is just below 200k units, or if production was lower than June. I have noticed that mache seem to be harder to find at dealers than earlier this year but that could just be demand too and evs selling once they hit the lot.

Yeah, I still haven't seen exact numbers or totals through Q2 of this year.

They will get it around the same time, and it won't be 2023. I stand by 2025 model years being the target,. 2024 at best.

I saw somewhere at the end of June it was estimated that ford had sold 185,000 evs in the US, that would mean if they sold 15k more in Q3 it would start the rolldown of the tax credit. that assumes the law doesn't pass. If it does then in theory if you have a signed binding contract for one you could wait however long until its delivered and the date it was put into service would be back dated to the day before the law was enacted as far as I can tell. Obviously I am not a lawyer or tax expert so its best to check with someone who is if you are in that situation.

The main problem I see is the contract has to be signed before the law is enacted at least how its currently written. Theres a lot of possibilities such as the law not passing, it changing or me being completely wrong in my understanding.

The Verge article got the timeline about implementing Android Automotive directly from an interview with Jim Farley.

Farley is the source who said it will come to the Lightning first, and it will be in the 2023 model year.

Has anyone seen anything since that time suggesting it won't happen?

Nowhere in the Verge article does it say 2023 model year. 2023 in this context could mean December 2023 for the '24s. And that may get delayed further.

I admire your optimism. I guess you have to choose what part of the Verge article to believe:

If 23's were going to have them, I'm not sure the article would say "later in 2023". MY 23 production starts in '22. Also, I don't think Farley would have talked about running behind schedule if this was expected for MY 23.

Farley is actually quoted in the article as saying "later in the fall"-- that's 2023... That means MY 2024s...

I don't think you can believe any part that isn't a direct quote from Farley. It seems like The Verge adds their own commentary that's based on guesses. I especially like this part:

If things go well, Farley predicts Ford will run out of its 125,000 $7,500 EV tax credits sometime late this year or early next year.

Uh, why don't they think that ford gets 200,000 tax credits like everyone else?
