These are a great idea for in-city patrol. All the low speed stuff, stop and go, and even just hanging out in one spot. I bet even with a standard range battery it's more than enough and would save the city thousands every month on fuel and maintenance costs (with a larger fleet). Idling an ICE engine over countless hours is tough on them, not as much of an issue with a BEV.

It's why Ford was soooo smart with the F-150 Lightning Pro, and all the complaints it can't tow a 10k lb trailer as far as a diesel or whatever, is that it's a vehicle that is better purpose built for local commercial use than any ICE vehicle. A lot of stop and go which BEVs are best at, and really only a hundred miles or so of actual driving each day since it's just going to different job sites. The up front cost can be tough, they could have had an F-150 Lightning Pro for less than the Mach-e, and I think Ford really needs to revisit that, but long term maintenance and fuel costs it's no contest.
