I find the trick for some dealers is to confirm they participate in using rewards points, then later you can order the part and don't mention the rewards points until it is time to pay. I'm not aware of any restrictions on service/OEM parts that you cannot use the rewards points - that's the whole point of them.

I went ahead and ordered, no ETA. This dealer was fine with points. Not sure what else I would use the points for, so why not.

Yeah, 20 minutes after the order confirmation email, I got another saying the part is on back order with no ETA. Guess I’ll give it a week and check order status.

I tried to call into my local dealer but he said the part numbers wouldn't pull anything up for him.

Looks like a perfect addition to this Amazon.ca. Keeps the charger buttons from icing up and socket clean.

It has also appears on the Canadian parts site now - I'll try to order one tomorrow and see what happens.

Let us know (pic) how it fits and if the NA one is anything like the European one with mach-e on it? Appears to have a DCFC opening not home L2 like the original post shows. Like the European one.

this cover would still allow snow/ice buildup in the cover hinge.... possibly jamming up when you close it. I would suggest a small towel or grocery bag shut in the hood and draped will be more effective.

Fabric or paper will get wet from melt or other means then will freeze bond to the panel. You could get possible decolorization of the panel paint that way.

The OP cover would definitely have to be installed each time plugged in as the doors looks like it would not close with it installed. The bottom ledge of the car fills with snow/ice and it is a regular procedure. There is a drain hole in there but it ices up. Had the hairdryer out a few times to close it gently. The cover may still need the drier around the edge of it to pop it out but may stop the ledge icing problem. Needs to be easy to install and there was a PDF but did not read it because I can not get it.

so.... use a plasticized grocery bag, or a small section of tarp. My point was since most people have re-usable grocery bags in the car these days, they are a good emergency drape if you get caught outside charging in a snowstorm.

We've tried several different weather covers. This is the one that works best so far. It stays flexible in the cold, isn't magnetic (magnetic doesn't work on the quarter panel and does cause the Ford EVSE plug to disconnect if the magnet is too close to the thumb button), and it is large enough to cover the door and the plug.

I have found it best to not let anything wet sit on the vehicle paint especially when going below freezing. That is why I found popping in an insert interesting. Vaporware that costs too much right now, my sock works and can deal with the ledge.

My home-grown solution right now consists of a cut-out from thick rubber floor mat + the waterproof nylon bag my winter windshield cover came in, which is basically this, minus the redneck engineering.

I'd still like to cover the charge handle as well as I've had it freeze and not release. Had to warm up the whole handle for a good 10 minutes before it would release.

Saw that and I do not think I would use that part. In fact I know I would throw it away and would not be messing with it. Wonder if they would take 50% off the cost just for the plastic insert. Really not too much of a problem with the door cover. Between the black seal lip and metal door it fills once in a while but never a problem and easy to blow out.

Best tool I have found lately is a commercial husqvarna lithium ion leaf blower with 2 BLI300's. Does not work great on sticky snow but on powder the hole car is clean in 30 seconds. Gets every nook and cranny around the whole car including the port and port door without dumping a big pile around the car. Lithium push a button and go. Would have never used a gas leaf blower.

I have found the sock I posted above was required due to button and/or latch icing up. It is just less of a hassle when the handle and socket stay dry and do not ice. Find it quick and stays on and protects the charging head all the time even in summer with rain (pic above is two winters old). Think if you knew someone that sowed you could get one cheap. Tapered with an elastic draw string sewn in. Anyone needs the dimensions let me know.
