Hi all,

i am currently staying at an Airbnb in FL and charging the car all day and night view 120v and a 100ft extension cord. The extension cord is rated for high temps, but I am nervous about leaving the Ford charger charging all day when the ambient temperature never falls below 90.

Is this a reasonable concern and I should unplug during day hours? Or can I rest worry free? The more juice the car gets the better before departure.

If itā€™s a 10 gauge extension cord that isnā€™t coiled, I wouldnā€™t worry about it. Just check the connections every so often.

I charged in 118 temps in AZ this past weekend. Charging keeps the battery cool. I also got hit with Stop Safely Now yesterday. So thereā€™s that. Lol

I just did exactly this last week for almost 3 days. No issue at all. I did not need an extension cord, however.

You're only going to be pulling 1/2 the current since you're using the 120V pigtail. All of the reported problems I've heard about with the Ford Mobile charger were using the 240V pigtail.

Follow the advice above and also:
Keep the body of the mobile charger out of direct sunlight (if possible) and you could be fine with your plan.

If possible, place the mobile EVSE in the shade. Don't leave it laying in the driveway exposed to the direct sunlight.

Trickle charge indeed with that kind of setup.

Right. Make sure it's 10 gauge.
