ordered on 7/1 may have missed adding an option. haven't heard from dealer yet 9 days later. Is this normal Ford dealer behavior? They don't want to sell this car eh? the way i look at it is that i'm a customer who has expressed a strong interest by spending 500$, i deserve a call, an email, something? nothing is just rude.

Did they accept your order?
My dealer hasn't reached out to me yet either since they accepted. I also had to pester them for four days to click the accept button.

Did you contact them to get any questions answered before 7/1? You might want to reconnect with that person to find out when you should be expecting them to communicate with you, again. My salesperson's been pretty quiet except when I reach out with questions. Then she responds very promptly and completely.

If you've not spoken to them at all... Contact the head of the dealership's sales department and find out who their Mustang Mach-E "EV" specialist(s) are. Reach out to one of them to get your questions answered and let them know you're disappointed they haven't contacted you sooner.

I was forced to reach out to the dealer because I want to get dealer's commitment on X Plan and deposit refundability. I would prefer that Ford had made ADM, acceptance of X Plan, and deposit refundability available on the order website (maybe, by requiring dealers to fill out questionnaires beforehand). If that is the case, I would not reach out to the dealer and wouldn't care to hear from the dealer either. I do expect that they accept my order timely. (My expectation of timely is 24 hours. I ordered at noon on the Saturday that order bank opened. And the second check mark was there when I checked in the evening of the same day. I was surprised that Ford didn't send out an automated email notification when the order was accepted. Anyways, the dealer met my expectation on this one.) The only time I want to talk to the dealer is to arrange physical pick up or delivery of the vehicle, a few months from now.

It would have been better customer service if your dealer had shoot you an email to invite you to a chat. I wouldn't have responded, but you probably will. That will meet expectations of people like you, without annoying people like me.

In the grand scheme of things, I don't think it's worthwhile to read too much into the lack of communication from your dealer. In my opinion, a good dealer is one that doesn't play games, one that answers questions correctly and responsibly when asked (either promptly or after proper investigation), one that handles order and delivery promptly and efficiently.

What most of us have found out is that this process is radically new to dealers, and we are the test crowd for Ford's new model on this. Bronco is going to follow suit with online reservations. In general, I have found that I tend to be more knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the car I am buying than most salesmen. While I DID get an email the next day when I reserved the car in November from my dealer, I had to hold their hand to get the order accepted and followed through on.

It is a bit frustrating, but hopefully they will learn and get better with it in the future. I would call your dealer as suggested above, or stop in. I did a lot of this while I was waiting on my current vehicle during a service call. The sales manager actually had to call the owner of the dealership to confirm X plan and no ADM for me because I told him if not, there is a dealership across town that will, and I will move my order.

Good luck!

Mine did reach out to me by phone and email right after I placed the reservation. Then complete silence until I reached out to them in June.

I'm in the same boat. Submitted my order as soon as soon as the order site went live and hadn't really hard much from the dealer. Been over a week and the site still doesn't show as the order being accepted, even though I reached out to them and they said that it was accepted. I figured it'd be easier to just go there and get things done in person, which I'm doing this afternoon.

I submitted my order on Saturday and didn't think about it again until Monday.

When I finally logged in and checked on Monday it had been accepted and just as I closed my browser tab my dealer called to say they accepted it and "I don't know what happens next"LOL.

This is the response from my dealer when I asked what would happen next now that the order is in work: As I understand the program, Ford will schedule the dealer orders sometime in the next 3 or 4 weeks. Once the order is scheduled, we will have an approximate date of the build and an estimated time of delivery to the dealership. We will keep an eye on the status throughout the build process and give you occasional updates, however feel free to send me a note if you have questions or just want a status update.

Just in case you're not aware, a 240V/32A mobile charger is included for free. If you want a second charger to keep in the garage, you can buy the Ford one or any (non-Tesla) third-party ones.

yes! the order was accepted the day after I ordered... which is why this continues to baffle me.

Nope, I never contacted them. I just decided i liked the Mach-E, placed and order, and hoped that magic happens - no magic i guess... :) i just don't believe that i should be the one begging them to take my money... perhaps i'm being naive

I actually am in the same camp as you - don't talk to me if you don't have to... In this case, I was just hoping for a polite check-in via email (preferred), which i could then use to contact them because i think i may have missed out on an option for my order.. nothing, nada. Makes me want to place another order with another dealer (also nearby) to see if they are better. any advice on how quickly i can get my 500$ back if i do that?
