Are you sure this is part of 1.7.1 PowerUp? The post showing it is from a GT - who has BlueCruise and all - so it may not be part of 1.7.1.
I don't have an apple device to test. But the sync version on the GT is only about a week newer than the 1.7.1 update so there is a good chance it's induced in the update. But I am waiting on someone else that can verify.
Well, how do you know the version number? I just came from the dealer where the field engineer and the tech when through the car an updated all the modules, yet I don't have the new stuff.1.7.1 was successfully downloaded. APIM update only. No other modules have been touched it appears. 7.88gb. Wifi NOT required for this update.

Sound settings are now loading with my profile on startup as expected instead of having to use the seat memory button workaround.
Frunk button now shows in the sync screen. No Frunk button in the app yet, as the modules still haven't updated to enable that. Button is still not functional until the other modules get their update to enable it. Fordpass does not show the button yet either.

This version of Sync also is supposed to include CarPlay Navigation directions on the Cluster display. Waiting on a picture of this to add.
Other notes:
Appears to have included updates to the Garmin Nav app, Online Nav Routing, and several "theme" files.
This release did NOT fix the issue where maps in dark mode don't show streets. Still just a blank map. Switching to Light mode shows the streets. Ford told me an update was coming in the fall to fix that.
It is still car specific, since it is a staggered roll out. So even going to the dealer could say you're up to date.

CarPlay full screen does not work differently with 1.7.1 for me. iPhone 11 on iOS 14.8, still blank section below the map.
Well dang. Apparently that 1 week difference between our build and the GT build is pretty different.
Apple Maps yes. Google maps no. I don’t use other services like Waze.
