This is what I saw this morning after seeing the 1.7.1 update has finally been "installed".
Me too. And the switch for automatic updates is set to "off" and every time I move it to "on" it resets to "off" when I go back in. The first two updates worked fine with no problems.

This is one of the reasons my car ended up at the dealership last Wednesday. Tomorrow it will be one week without our car. According to the dealershipā€™s service representative, they have been working with engineers at Ford who are trying to solve these issues which include what several of you are describing. Iā€™m wondering what the latest attempted update really did to our car. I will let you know if they ever fix our carā€™s issues.

I guess this is why they are doing slow rollouts

Thanks. I'm not bringing my car in until I see how it works out for you and any others that have gone that route. My car drives fine and I don't miss most of what the update was going to add/change.

So still ongoing, my car is with the dealership again, they did more troubleshooting and then actually performed the update on another customer car which confirmed they weren't doing something wrong. After that ford approved an apim module replacement so that's on order and they are hoping to have it and replace it later this week. I'll update as more happens.

On a positive note though they gave me a new 2 door bronco as a loaner which while I like my mach-e more is scratching an itch my wife and I had for possibly getting a bronco in the future.... Now I need a rivian r1t loaner....

I wrote to the Early Access Team about my MME not updating to 1.7.1 and they are aware of it and are looking into it. They asked for the carā€™s VIN which I sent them. Weā€™ll see if they can help. They said NOT to bring the car in to the dealer.

It's worth noting I have a family member with a mach-e that hadn't updated and the dealership manually updated their car just to make sure they were doing it right and theres took the update, so not all vehicles that haven't updated have a hardware issue like mine does.

I'm just going to wait until I hear back from them just in case they can fix the problem with an OTA solution. If not, I'll take it in. I don't think I have a hardware issue but honestly don't know.

It really seems like if your car is in the process of getting the OTA, some functions are locked out until it's completely done. Even a dealer can't do updates properly. Which is probably why the EA team said to NOT take it to a dealer.

I'm in the same boat. Waiting until Ford figures this out. Too many of us are having the exact same issue, where it's stuck in the middle of an OTA. That said, I really appreciate those courageous enough to bring this problem to the dealer - shout out to Cherlin and TAPe - which could benefit us all in the end.

I am experiencing the same issue with the same symptoms as others have reported here. My update began on Monday so I guess I am early in the process. Others have been stuck for a lot longer. Prior to this I had 4 updates that went just fine. The car drives just fine. I am going to wait until there is a resolution. I have not received the "oops" notification in Ford Pass that says the update failed

Update: I wrote to the Early Access Team about my MME not updating to 1.7.1 as well. I got back the response that they are working on it and would let me know. I looked at my update page on the car and now the 1.7.1 is gone and it just says software is up to date. I looked at the Sync level and it is now back to the older level. I didn't get a message that the update failed. It is as though it was rolled back for some reason.
Update: Yesterday I reported that my car reverted back to 1.6. That is apparently was the first step in trying to get it "unstuck". I am now back to 1.7.1 with the same symptoms as before. They said they may ask for logs from the car. I told thm to get whatever they needed to resolve the problems everyone on this thread is experiencing. I have not heard anything further. I did not get a"installation failure" nor I have I gotten an install successful message.

I had another reply from the Early Access Team:

Hi Michael,

This screenshot is super helpful. Thanks so much for sending. This seems to be the exact known issue and the team is working to resolve right now. Iā€™ll let you know if we have follow up questions, and will inform you on next steps.

In the meantime, if anything changes, please let us know so we can note it.

Thanks,

Ford Early Access Team

So is this still in Early access or are they just the ones troubleshooting?

They likely are using Early Access cars to troubleshoot. I imagine part of the agreement enrolling in that program is giving them permission to connect to your car to collect logs and troubeshoot.

It's the Early Access Team I am corresponding with. I assume they will be troubleshooting the problem too.
