Mine is off. But I got alerts. And I cannot turn it on..
Same issue with SecuriAlert. Tried setting it up on my new mach-e (built 10/21) and it works but the scheduling doesnt work, it sends alerts all the time even when its off. I am still getting alerts with the schedule and securialert turned off sometimes. Really annoying.

Today mine can be turned on and off. Ford's servers are wonderful...

I have to ask my wife to enable, edit or disable the schedule since it works on her iPhone but doesn't work on my Android. If you have access to an iPhone, then you might consider installing FordPass and linking it to your car. That should allow you to turn off or edit the schedule.

Not idealnof course. But a work around at least...

Pleased to report that 2.1.0 installed without consequence. I didn't lose my saved nav destinations, charge schedules, presets or anything else I can think of. Everything was right where I left it prior to the update.

I disabled automatic updates after the last OTA fiasco. Because of this, FordPass kept bugging and bugging me about the update with no apparent way to delete the message. I finally relented so on my next journey, I started the car and browsed to the update screen and then selected the option to update. I presume it downloaded the package during my drive (or perhaps it was already downloaded by that time.....not sure). After I parked but before turning off the car, I checked that screen again and it said Pending. Later that day I went for another drive and checked again and it looked like it finished installing.

It is kinda convenient that I can still drive the car while it prepares to update. Sounds like it will download while driving but waits for the car to be parked for the installation. If that is how it works then that is better than Tesla or Jeep. Both of those vehicles can't be driven while updating. From what I understand, the Tesla won't do anything until it finishes updating. The Jeep will let you drive but it will cancel the installation and try again later. Kinda interesting how different brands handle OTAs a little differently.

The notes for 2.3 indicate that there will be large updates in the future that will require the car to be parked. Thus far all of my car's updates have happened during or right after a drive cycle.

Some updates can be applied while driving and some can't. The new scheduling is to help handle the ones that require the car to be off.

The ones that can be updated while driving do it in the background on a redundant set of memory, and the next time the module boots it uses the updated version.

Pardon my terrible drawing skillz, but it will be slightly to the left of your profile pic and be a down arrow pointing into a "U" shape. Like this I've drawn in red:

Thank you. I assume it doesn’t stay there very long. Do you know what causes it to disappear?

Strange note on this update... I woke up this morning to an update notice on my phone, but none in the car. I also noticed that blue cruise was still showing in my connected services.

Several drive cycles throughout the day and nothing changed. Tonight I was leaving the gym, and I remote started about 5 minutes before walking out (the app did confirm that the remote start was successful).

When I came out though, the car was not, in fact on. When I turned it on to drive away then the in car notification for the update appeared. At that point, BC disappeared from my connected services.

I'm not sure what, if any of these events are connected, but interesting to note.

Not particularly worried about the BlueCruise thing since it's still 4 years out.
Just noticed that my blue cruise in the connected services was also gone now.

If there are "minor updates here and there" then why has the major version number changed??

Ford must be using a magic 8 ball to come up with the power up version numbers.
Trouble is, If it’s a Ford 8 ball, nothing comes up to the window.

By definition, that will exclude me from future updates since my car doesn't ever stay parked very long. :)

Did you get all that 1.7.1 had to offer? Or still no notes app nor CarPlay directions on IPC?
Got the notes app and the direction indicator on the drivers screen when using Apple Maps only. Can’t find anything else.

Wow, great, so they were able to just bypass 1.7.1 for those that had issues receiving! That’s actually great news.
