My Nephew has an IPhone, I have a Samsung. We seem to be at odds at times trying to get to the right interface. Has anyone tried using Ottocast or similar to resolve this?

I love Android auto. The camera allows me to leave my land cameras home now when I travel. I just need them to behave together.

I took this in Fiji three or four years ago. No filters, and I took it from above.

So, I'm not willing to change over to an IPhone just to unmuddy these waters. maybe someone has tried it?

Well, you obviously don't understand what I'm trying to do here. Have fun with your dawg. Hopefully, someone can answer my question that has used it.

I admit I don't understand what you're trying to do either, all you did was mention two phone companies and say you are at odds getting to the right interface. What does that mean? If I took it at face value it would sound like both phones connect to the car and it doesn't always pick the one you prefer?

The product you linked seems to piggyback on CarPlay in order to allow you to pass in HDMI video, I am guessing to allow video-in-motion to watch stuff like Netflix which is typically restricted on most devices (without workarounds).

But if that's what you want I don't know what Samsung or Apple or interfaces has to do with it since that device doesn't deal with either of them, it just fakes the car into thinking it's an Apple device to call on CarPlay but to pass its own content. So if you could clarify it would help.

I went to their web site. It looks like the product is intended to take a vehicle that already supports WIRED CarPlay and/or AndroidAuto and make it WIRELESS. Your Mach-E already had WIRELESS CarPlay and AndroidAuto so it would be redundant.

Only for vehicles or motorcycle that have factory wired CarPlay or factory wired Android Auto

I’m totally baffled here as well. The Mustang Mach-E has solid support for both Android and iPhones. There are many owners who use both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. 🤷‍♂️

Well, I know what you’re trying to do. My friend has one he has an iPhone, but you just have to buy the one for an android. They both cost the same. They’re like 80 bucks and you can watch Netflix or whatever while you’re driving around in your car. Kind of like the new Mercedes commercial that’s on right now with the Masters with this button called Putt pilot or something like that, they show playing golf on the screen and the guy sitting in the car looking around and not having to watch the road and watch golf lol.

I have an ottocast p3. It’s great for being able to watch Netflix / YouTube / prime etc on the big screen - an easy way to spend the time while on a charger. It does allow you to have it on screen while driving but clearly that would be illegal to do in most places. It pretends to be a wired iPhone to connect to the car and you can connect wirelessly to it with both CarPlay and Android auto so both your phones could connect (individually. - not at the same time!) The interface is nice and quick unlike other older boxes I’ve tried before.

It obviously doesn't do what I want, and I suck at describing what I want. Mea culpa.

2 different phone platforms. I don't want to disconnect one to be able to use features from the other.

My wife has a Telluride with wired CarPlay. Didn't want to have to plug in every time, so got the Carplay ottocast. It allows wireless connectivity. More buggy than even the Mach E wireless interface, even though OttoCast is pretty highly rated. She has to restart the phone constantly to get Spotify to work properly. Especially if toggling between radio and carplay for audio.

Considering your issue is toggling between two wireless connections that are already supported, I doubt ottocast will offer any improvement. My best thought is to simply turn off wifi on the phone you don't want to use?

Actually, I just saw a video on driver profiles and that's what I needed. You can specify your phone as well as seat/mirror settings, and that should resolve the cluster. I'll def let y'all know.
